I think it's a brilliant idea to put away the scales skint-catt. Years ago, we had some gathering dust in the bathroom. We never used them as both DH and I hated what they told us so he threw them in the bin. Now I just use my jeans to tell me how I'm doing. I know if I had scales at home I'd be weighing obsessively every day. That's not a good idea for you emotionally as weight fluctuates so much for all sorts of reasons day to day and even through the day. Even if you don't go to class I think you should limit weighing to once a week and try to control as many variables as possible (time of day, clothes etc.)
Sorry to hear about tadpole's car frogga. Sadly it's what happens when you're young and have an oldish car. She'll look back on this with nostalgia in years to come and it'll make her more appreciative and add to her driving experience. It got me thinking to my first car and some of my 'adventures'. I lived in South Wales at the time and the hills worked both ways for me. It helped hugely when the starter motor wouldn't work in that I always had to park on a hill so I could bump start it without assistance. Then when the hand brake didn't work I always parked the car in gear. That's a habit that stuck, much to DH's annoyance when he starts it without checking and it lurches him forwards!:rotfl:
Lunch at the Brazilian was very successful. Like mildredd said, I'm finding the challenge very motivating and helping me be mindful of my eating. There was plenty of lean meat and the salad/vegetable bar had plenty to choose from. I went for plain rice and salad bits. There were dressings on them but that was the limit of my syns. Last thing brought round was roasted pineapple:D dusted with cinnamon. That was enough for me. DH and friends all had puddings but I refused!
Pleased to report that I've changed into some old jeans tonight and they're positively baggy, just how I like them.:) There's a chance we might be out for lunch on Sunday but other than that I should be in control right through to WI on Thursday.

Hi everyone
I had my weigh in today and lost 2lbs
I'm really happy with that. My dd's had garlic bread with their tea and love it and it was really hard to put a few pieces in the bin that they didn't want before it managed to jump in my mouth.
Keep up the good work everyone
TraceyOfficially debt free :j0 -
Have a good night's sleep tie.:) End of a hard week for you, hope you can get a bit of a break over the weekend.
I'm thinking that although I don't actually use MFP that on the days I've been out for a flexi lunch that I haven't had wanted any other meals that day so that may be helping.
And do you really put sprouts in stew?:eek:_pale_
:T tracy on your loss and your amazing willpower with the garlic bread!0 -
