Just back from wi. Woo hoo 3.5 lbs off. Just shows what can happen after a maintain. So happy......
:Tlantanna, that hotpot certainly worked a treat!:)Well done losers, maintainers, food resisters your all awesome!!!!
Another low syn day here
Is a flex syn day different to saving syns for a day?
I think the idea of flexi syn is that while you might go way over syns, you try to be mindful of what you're having and then because you've retained some control you get right back on plan the next day. So it is like having a day off but with the promise that you've planned it, you won't beat yourself up over it and then you'll go straight back to SW.
My consultant agrees with saving syns too. I do it myself but I also have some flexi meals now I'm at target. I'm definitely up for on-going mini challenges though. I've been dreadful the last three weeks. Put on 3.5lbs and haven't been back to WI since as I know I'm not properly back on track. Today's been a good day though and next week looks more promising in terms of opportunities to stay in control.Been out for DS's birthday.
Totally off plan but life gets in the way.
Was lovely to see him :j :j :j
Lovely to see you so happy beanie. You can get back on plan tomorrow, but enjoy today!0 -

So pleased for you Beanie, glad you had a nice time
Some great losses on here, and some sensible attitudes to gains :T I think that's where I go wrong, if I have a gain, or even a sts, or even a small loss, then I have a paddy and strop off and give upHow Tadpolish am I?
Have a great Friday you lovely people

Not looking forward to WI this morning. Was doing well all week then I drank a bottle of cider last night. Followed by a bottle of wine. And ate a huge pizza. And some crisps. Oops.
Was tempted to skip weigh in (again. and maybe never go back) but feel determined now to get straight back on it after reading your posts. Thanks all0 -
Oh and good luck Nessie! I had a baby girl 7 months ago. Giving birth really wasn't nearly as painful as I'd expected it to be. I hope it all goes smoothly for you0

Fed up! Gained 1.5 lbs this week. I have exercised every day, filled in food diary sheets and the only thing I can think of which I shouldn't have had is a hot chocolate drink (no cream or marshmallows) at a caf!.
The week before I lost 1 lb of the 3 lb I gained the week before so I am starting to get v. worried. I have spoken to consultant and she says she doesn't think I'm eating enough and to check that I'm eating enough superfree. I love all my fruit and veg and eat loads so I don't think it's that.
As I left SW another lady said "do you go home and have a treat now". I said "no, I'm going back to SW casserole and then a muller yoghurt and fruit." She reckons she has an indian or Chinese once a week as her treat. Life is SO unfair.Likewise the exercise .... so many people I talk to do none at all and STILL lose weight.
I am nowhere near target so it's definitely not that.0 -

It's really unlikely that yesterday's 'flexi meal' will have had an effect by today. You can easily 'reclaim' the syns across the coming week. So glad you've decided to go to WI and stick with it. The only reason I've been avoiding is that if I go above target range I'll have to pay and I don't want to but I will if it's a choice between that and putting weight back on.Fed up! Poor you, penny.:)
Not eating enough can affect weightloss as apparently the body conserves fat as a defence as it doesn't know where/when the next meal is coming from.
Although I've never done it myself I have heard of people who have a 'day off' after WI day. There is a theory that a bit of a 'shake up' is good for the system. I've never wanted to try it in case I enjoyed it too much!:rotfl:
What about posting some menus on here? We'd soon tell you if you weren't eating enough or there was something else wrong with your meals.
Today I'm having a flexi lunch. It's a Brazilian version of a carvery. It may not be too bad. Basically, they carve meat at the table then you help yourself to salads or veg as you prefer. Wine syns will be consumed;) but that's allowed for on Fridays.
I did well yesterday, totally syn free although may have been a tad light on SFs. And I made SW burgers and a big pot of stew for the freezer.:)0 -
Morning lovelys
I'm finding the 6 week challenge is a motivator to stay on track.
Well done to losers, and gainers today's a new day and a new week.
I've also read about the camel theory of fat that if u put ur body into starvation mode that when you do eat every mg of fat will be held into as the body is in survival mode -think that's a Paul McKenna think yourself thin explanation - tried it loads of times got to say the cd is ace- at putting me to sleep not much else.
Currently debating what to do today might go for a nice long walk into town although I do want to go to the city to get the last Xmas bits I want for dd. might see how the next hour pans out
