Awesome in Autumn Challenge 1st weigh in -2lbs.

Shala, could you please put this on your table? Thank you so much for keeping track. Would it help you if we all marked our reports to you in some way, like putting a certain smiley on right at the beginning, or starting with your name in bold, then you'd know it was a weigh-in report?

Really pleased, and thanks again for all the inspirational stuff here! Here's to a great week everyone!

Olive oil can be a HEb too - if you put it in a spray bottle (you can buy oil sprayers) then you use very little. You really should eat breakfast otherwise your metabolism slows down & you'll possibly be slowing your weight loss in the long run.

I was going to comment on this but then saw below:
    Thanks again.

I appreciate the tip re: breakfast but I am of the belief it isn't what it's cracked up to be. I read a lot of info on intermittent fasting and apparently just by not eating breakfast does not slow your metabolism down...you would need to go for days before this happened. Obviously everyone has their own ideas re this but if i eat breakfast then I end up ravenous again by mid morning. If i wait until I am actually hungry, I feel much better!

I also believe different things work for different people and there will be plenty who benefit from eating breakfast. Just working on my meal plan!

I agree - it seems to be a widely held belief about metabolism but from reading about fasting, talking to OH (the expert) and generally being into nerdy biological stuff, metabolism isn't really affected when you don't eat for short time periods, and you burn fat during short fasts, e.g. while you're asleep. I'm the same as you Anon - i feel hungrier when I've had breakfast. I do still have it on most of my eating days but don't tend to have it until later than I used to, just not hungry, especially after a fast day. Of course if you like breakfast and want to eat it then all well and good, but personally I don't think it's essential.

    And another thing

For all you diet coke fiends out there - OH and I love coke zero -well between now and 24/9 you can get eight pack of coke family can drinks (if that makes sense )coke diet one coke zero etc for 4.24 or 4.29 for eight pack but its on a BOGOF so about 26pper can which is really good value just thought I'd share that with you there are any others 16 cans for 424 or 4.29 about that

I'm not keen on it but OH is a diet Coke fiend so being a good MSEr I make him buy the multipacks instead of going to the shop by work every day. At least one supermarket seems to have an offer on at any one time but the best we've found recently is Farmfoods - I can't remember the exact price but it was something like 2x24 packs for £12, which works out at 25p a can.

Catt - don't be disheartened - anything you can lose by Christmas will be worth it, and you can get a good chunk off, keep with it!

Becks - agree about rubbish making you feel rubbish - I felt a bit off for a few days last week and am sure it was from stuffing myself with bread, pasta and chocolate on Monday night. The thing I find hard is, next time I want to stuff myself, REMEMBERING how I felt and then actually heeding my own advice! :o

Went to our WOTY district final yesterday - didn't win or even come in the last 6 but didn't expect to - there were some great stories and enjoyed hearing about everyone's weight loss journeys. They did our height and weight first to make sure we were still within the criteria and apparently the total weigh loss of all the finalists (can't remember if there were 16 or 18 of us) was over 78 stone! I weighed in at 0.5lb less than 2 weeks ago but lots of people were complaining that the scales were weighing them heavy (we all lost half an inch in height too!) so fingers crossed for a good WI tonight. Would LOVE to get to 7 stone lost by next week, so I could call target on a nice round number - 4lb in 2 weeks (inc tonight) is doable but we'll see. Back on the bike today (in terrible weather!) after a week off so hoping that helps.

Good luck to those weighing in today! :)

  • Well I got weighed.....:eek::eek:

Oh well..onwards and upwards (well downwards in terms of figures)!

Had my morning coffee with most of my milk allowance. I make HM lattes but this is ok because I don't have cereals etc so shouldn't need it for anything else. Not sure what style of day to do just gonna keep it neutral until after lunch I think.

Can you still have ryvita style things as a HEB? And if so, which are the best/lowest syn/get the most for your HE? Just for those emergency times.

Good luck for the new week everyone!x

Ryvita are hebs still, you can have 4 normal ones - so original or rye, the other fancier ones are only 2/3 for a heb, such as sesame, onion, sunflowers seed etc. you can also have a bag of ryvita minis for a heb too.

If you're after something sweet then I find 2 ryvita crunch are great.. And a heb!

Can you tell I LOVE ryvita :rotfl:

Good luck in your first week xx

  • weigh in tonight for me but nor feeling very confident as i have drunk far more than i should this week (not diet coke :o) but food wise have been ok. had mushrooms, toms, beans & scrambled eggs for brekkie but left half of it, beans were hard and veg tasted odd, might be cos i changed from the normal spray oil to the buttery one, and its got a odd smell to it.

need to investigate new brekkie ideas for when i'm off to work, i don't get to eat again until 2, so fruit and yoghurt isn't enough, am reluctant to have cereal as i like HE later in the day with ryveta and laughing cow. but might try magic pancakes for a change.

good luck to anyone else weighing in today

Shala, please could I come out of 'lurking' mode and join in for the remaining 5 weeks - only got back from holiday last week and it has taken me a while to catch up on all the posts etc.

I am within my target range but would like to maintain, like Maman.

Just before my holiday I did go below my target range but lots of people started to say I was looking to skinny - I know there are probably a few of you out there that would like to hear that but it is surprising how hard it is to maintain too! Also, losing weight can become a bit addictive and even though I knew I was below target I still found myself wanting to lose more :(.

I don't mean to 'rub anyones nose in it' so please accept my apologies for complaining about being too skinny :o

Congratulations to all those who have lost in the first week of the challenge :j and hugs to those that need them :grouphug:.
