I just looked up M&S chicken pie with shortcrust (DH's favourite) and its 17.5 syns for a measly 138g serving!:eek::eek:

Let us know how you get on with that wine magic.;)

I do use Frylight although I've heard it contains some nasties. I suppose you could try putting olive oil in a spray then you wouldn't use much or alternatively syn your oil or have as a HEB.

I've been fine so far today on EE:
B: NAS Ribena, HEB toast, fried egg, mushrooms, HEA milk for teas
L: ham, green beans, mushrooms and fried potatoes
D: we're off to Raymond Blanc chain. Whatever I eat, at least the portions will be tiny.:(

Wow, that's brilliant, thank you! The other thing I was considering was the tandoori mixed grill? Will look this up when I get home :D

In trying to be good, honest!! :o

The mixed grill has the lamb mince that is like lamb kofte from kebab shops - I'm sure the syns would soon rack up with that one :( shame cos it's really tasty!

Personally I would have a slice on a day with no other syns & enjoy it - try to have a smaller piece than u would have usually gone for & feed the rest to someone else! Unless you know the brand or have the ingredient list to hand you will probably not find the syn values anywhere!
Thanks again everyone! I think I shall start on monday (got a family doo on Sunday) and I will just do it on here. I know the basics and can find the syn value for things. Just gonna have to try and think of some meal ideas that are quick and easy for the nights I literally have NO energy! I might do some soups and freeze and at least i have lunches and snacks.

Does anyone NOT use frylite? And if not, what do you use instead?

I shall post some of my ideas and check they're ok. I don't eat breakfast either so not too worried about that.

Meals for no energy - things that go in the slow cooker - casseroles, chilli, spaghetti Bol, mince, soups etc. perfect time of year for it - I normally make loads & stick the rest in the freezer!

I try not to use fry light too much as it tends to ruin my pans - I can only not use it in the pans that are non stick & have to use it when cooking eggs (they always seem to stick )

Any ideas for a low carb/ low sugar breakfast? I can't have porridge, bread or fruit or yog! (Stupid blood sugars!)
  • Olive oil spray sounds a good idea. I used to have a WW one but it broke. A lot of stuff i can dry cook but there are times when you need a bit of oil. I am looking forward to getting started!

Olive oil can be a HEb too - if you put it in a spray bottle (you can buy oil sprayers) then you use very little. You really should eat breakfast otherwise your metabolism slows down & you'll possibly be slowing your weight loss in the long run.
  • can i sneak in and join please.
1st time doing sw (tried ww and numerous other diets before)
my weigh in is mon eve and in 3 weeks i have managed to lose 9.5lb, if i manage another 1.5 this week i will be down in the next stone bracket which will be amazing.
at the mo i am suprised at how simple it is, loving the lack of counting and weighing everything.(will prob be eating my words 1st week i have a wobble) and amazed at how quickly my eating habbits have changed, i haven't had bread since i started as i find it doesn't fill me up and makes me want more and more, where as ryveta does the trick..
not set a target as such but going stone by stone, want to be able to get into size 12 jeans and 16 tops instead of 16 jeans and 20 tops
    Lead us not into temptation...

just tell us where it is and we'll find it....
