Bescks81 - I just changed from a Monday group to a Thursday there a few weeks ago and finding it has worked better for me. I'm always the heaviest on a Monday after the weekend vices!

I drink Green Tea with Mint all day in work to try and help with bloating - I'm at the toilet every half hour - I'm sure people are talking about me!

So great news to report I'd 3lb off last night, 3 stone 3lbs in total. Was very pleased with myself:T

To all those that are struggling don't give up - I'd only a 1lb off last week and half a pound the week before. The week before that was a 1lb gain. Sometimes your body just won't play ball! I'm feeling good today and the 3 lb off has been good for my motivation. Hopefully I'll meet my 6 week and Christmas Target - but if not I'll make a good stab at it.

    Anyway I'm really hoping

    :j:j

Lantanna great result really well done that is brilliant you must be so chuffed fantastic

Frogga that's part of working I don't miss - getting sworn at my pupils and parents :( hope your okay tonight and haven't let it ruin your evening x

I'm a going to group member as if I don't have an aim or goal I struggle with motivation after about 5 days :/
I can't even just go for a walk? I have to be going somewhere?
    Think I'm just a loon though :s
Annoyed though as all the Facebook groups etc linked by the consultant aren't secret so anyone can see I've joined slimming world and due to my lack of motivation I don't want the world knowing just yet? Would rather just post some pics on of me n the mini at Xmas me looking less potato like

Those who have put weight on - draw a frogga line under it and tomorrows a new day :)

Decided to treat me and mini Mildredd to a nandos today - wont be repeating - ended up with no super free - they had no salad so ended up starving :/ corn on the cob and half a chicken between me n the mini (ordered her chips - didn't even have one!)

Feel like at the moment I'm just breaking my bad habits food wise - not sure what to expect on 2nd weigh in in terms of loss though
Rambling now so gonna shut up

  • Thanks for the welcome everyone! I was considering going to class as there's one over the road from me but I know my weightloss will be painfully slow and I always feel a little embarrassed if I've stayed the same etc.

I have been recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia so although exercise is supposed to help, I also get the post exertional malaise which means I can be very inactive a lot of the time. I know they say you can still lose weight without exercise but I can't help thinking it keeps it ticking over smoothly! I was also told at some point that someone with Fibro has a slower metabolism by 25%.

I also have PCOS which means I should try and limit refined carbs!!

In the past I have used these reasons as excuses in a way but now I have decided that although these problems are there, i should still be able to lose some weight even if it is really slow to come off.

Sorry for rambling - am just trying to decide whether to go to group or not. In the past, when I have mentioned my ailments to the group leaders, they have always said "you'll still lose weight if you stick to the plan". And whilst I believe it is possible, i don't always think it is as simple as that. I trained to be a SW consultant many years ago and there wasn't then a lot of training on medical conditions (which I suppose is fair enough) but it was literally, if they stick to it, they will lose. I was proof that wasn't always the case and I kinda want someone who 'gets' that and will support me rather than tell me I must have done something wrong IYSWIM?

I have been having a look at the recipe thread and there are some great things on there. I have also been trying to think of things I can have so as not to get bored like I used to because I ended up eating the same things.

Anoneemoose, I don't go to a group, I am an online member but I find this thread is more supportive than anything else I've tried if you come to it regularly and get involved - I was a 'lurker' for years just reading people's stuff but found writing is much more motivational. Whether you decide to join SW group or not, don't worry about slow weight loss; everyone is different and sometimes slow and steady does the trick much more efficiently than those who lose a lot quickly and then find it goes back on again with one good night out!!

All the best with whatever you choose.

Lantanna - that's an amzing loss - I wish I could do that! I've lost 1.5 stone in 14 weeks & now having motivation problems!

I'm starving today :( Trying not to eat again until lunchtime in case I get this job, lol otherwise I'll just be eating at my desk all day as I've got used to eating as & when :o Fruit salad & yoghurt won't do it for me for breakfast when I've got busy mornings. I have however, bought my first dress (other than my wedding dress!) which I will wear to an interview - I don't look 'great' in it, but it's passable!

Whats the lowest syn indian takeaway? Is it something like Mushroom Biryani? I think hubby's after a takeaway tonight :o

I would got for a chana Dahl (chickpea curry) with plain rice & Bombay pots or sagg aloo - all for 12 syns! (Chana Dahl = 5syns, Bombay pots = 7 syns)

If you wanted some meat with it - I would get the chicken tikka (not in sauce) & count couple of syns

    HTH x
