Added you on smokies, well done on your fab loss so far xx

Anoneemoose - love the name! I use this as my group as I don't go to class, I find more support here and as i'm a bit shy I find it easier to ask questions on here than in a room full of people! I also enjoy seeing people's menus as I find them really helpful if i'm struggling to know what to eat.

Saying that I shan't be posting my menu today as i'm on a [STRIKE]naughty[/STRIKE] less than perfect day.. we're out for tea and I love my food so I don't want to spoil the night by having salad and sit there wishing i'd ordered something else, IYKWIM. Flexi day syns - I reckon as long as I stay under 50 then i'll be happy.. will work it out later.

    xx

Oh no birthday today and 1lb gain! So a small piece of cake tonight and 100% on track from tomorrow.
Wish I'd not lowered my target as would still be a lb below. I thought I'd done ok this week but everyone has been noticing how much I've lost and saying I look good so not been trying so hard!
I really want to get this 11lb off and be back to where I was when I got married, 20 years ago.
Your posts really keep me going so reading everyday and I'll try to post too.

Thanks for the replies. I love greek yog and always thought if it was fat free that it would have additives but I have just looked at sainsbury's own and Total (?) 0% and they only contain milk so that's something to think of!

I also looked at the WW yogs and there were 17 ingredients in them!

I haven't read the thread in full but I might as i am off sick at the moment. Does everyone go to class or do you use this thread as your group?

I think it's just the flavoured and sweetened ones that seem to have the additives - saying that, I haven't looked at the ingredients in the fat free plain ones but assumed they had just been skimmed and from what you've said, that sounds about right. You could try making your own flavoured ones but if you wanted them to be syn free some sweetener would have to be involved. I remember when the Turkish delight mullers came out I had a go as the shops were all sold out (plus I wasn't paying 60p for a yogurt!) - I used plain yogurt with a packet of Turkish delight flavour low fat hot choc (contains sweetener) and some rose water; was nice but think I'd probably just use the rose water and a bit of sugar/honey now. Have also got some coconut essence in the cupboard that a lovely friend found for me in a Yemeni (I think) shop so might try making some using that. That's how I do Thai curry sauce now - curry paste and plain yog or Quark plus coconut essence.

I think it's about half and half who goes to class on here and who does it themselves. I go to class but hopefully won't be paying for much longer - will still go though as help out with the weighing but probably won't WI myself every week.

I can beat that tbear. WI today and I gained 3.5lbs:eek: And it's not even my birthday that's to blame but everyone else's!!

Many Happy returns to you. I won't post a cake as that'll make it even worse.;)

I worked it out that the 3.5lbs have come from 3 meals out since last WI, a bit of last week's holiday catching up and probably worse than that loads of extra wine syns.

OK so I've gained 3.5lbs and I got home full of motivation to be as good as possible. Then BIL/SIL called round unexpectedly with cards and gifts for DH (his birthday Saturday). DH is suggesting we go out to lunch. I stepped in and offered something here instead. We all had SW Bolognese from the freezer BUT more wine syns.:(:o

So now I have 3.5lbs to lose and the maintain over the 6 week challenge. I will do it but I'll have to be positively saintly between the meals out/birthdays. Last family birthday is Tuesday and then I can only see 3 meals out planned before end of the month.

I know I could go out and eat a few leaves while everyone tucks in. That's (well not quite;)) what I did when getting to target. Trouble is I'm relaxing too much.

For those who haven't lost the will to [STRIKE]read[/STRIKE] live, sorry to ramble on. I know I have a really good life but it's conspiring to make me fat!

I'd 3 lbs on one week and within 3 days it was off again! Could you have water retention. Sometimes I find I'm up at the start of the week and back down again by the time it comes to wi on thurs.

The body is strange at times its a pity you couldn't say to it look your getting weighed today - behave yourself lol

I'm feeling like I'll be up a 1lb or two tonight as well.

Thanks, sorry you gained too. Like you say we've got to be as good as we can between the unavoidable get togethers etc. I've had my cake, now for a week on track with minimal syns!
    Happy Birthday to your OH.
  • Hi I'm thinking of starting the SW plan, I've bought the books from Ebay :-) I didn't want to join a club because I only want to lose 7lbs. Will I still have 5-15 syns per day or less? Many thanks

Frogga, that's terrible that parents are abusive to you (or any teachers) Some people are just horrible. Shame you are not one of those horrible south American poison spitting toads. That would shock them!!

Magic, have you been at the Elderflower cordial again??
