My head is all over the place & I have not been watching what I eat at all.

That's the best way Beanie, shut your eyes and stuff it in matey ;) You'll get back on it, you always do. Some drink, some smoke, some do drugs and have wild sex parties, you just need a break to console yourself, and who could blame you? :A

  • Hi all, I started a thread of my own but was pointed here instead. This was my original post:

    Hi,

I am considering restarting slimming world for a bit of 'focus' but when I did it before, I relied heavily on muller lights and fat free stuff which I now realise are quite often, full of sweeteners etc. Anyway, I just wondered if anyone had gotten round this i.e. avoiding stuff filled with rubbish??

If so, how do you do it? What do you eat? Another example is that I don't like low fat spreads, margarines, cream cheese etc as I understand a lot of this stuff is man made processed rubbish so i prefer real butter etc.

Any tips would be great, thanks!!

:)I try to avoid processed meat as there is a history of Bowel Cancer in the family. I do eat Muller Lights but mostly I make everything from scratch.

The amount of tins of soup and jars of sauces I used to eat was unreal.

That has all changed since starting slimming world.
I drink water mostly - when I'm not drinking gin:rotfl:
I have the occasional diet drink but once in a while not all the time like I used too.

I would say its very doable to do it the way you want - I think that's the beauty of Slimming World you can tweak it to get it to suit you and your needs! Join us on the 6 week challenge - only started Monday!

    Welcome :hello:

I agree wholeheartedly about stuff like butter - 10g of real butter is only 3.5 syns, will easily cover a couple of slices of toast and doesn't make it go soggy - I find a little of the proper stuff much more satisfying than more of the fake stuff! Saying that, half fat cheese and light cream cheese isn't bad, and isn't really any more processed than the full fat versions, but it depends what you like. Like Lantanna, I make most stuff from scratch - sauces, soups etc, and the bought ones taste odd to me now, way too sweet or artificial. I keep things like Pasta n Sauce and low fat super noodles in the cupboard for emergencies but rarely use them, instead tend to batch cook and freeze meals that I can grab to take to work for lunch - made mushroom soup this week and it is lovely :) If you like yogurt try fat free Greek yogurt with frozen berries and maybe a tsp of honey if you like it sweet - I much prefer it to the overly sweet Mullers and have it with a crumbled up weetabix for breakfast (and sometimes dessert) quite often :)

  • Thanks for the replies. I love greek yog and always thought if it was fat free that it would have additives but I have just looked at sainsbury's own and Total (?) 0% and they only contain milk so that's something to think of!

I also looked at the WW yogs and there were 17 ingredients in them!

I haven't read the thread in full but I might as i am off sick at the moment. Does everyone go to class or do you use this thread as your group?
  • Thank you all for your kind words over the past few days...
