Maman~if any consolation 3 1/2 on for me too.

Oh dear! I'm annoyed to have put on in the first week of the challenge but certainly won't be giving up!! It's probably going to be Tuesday before I can get properly back on plan but I'll do it. Just cross I've got a bigger mountain to climb than I thought.

    Hi Becks

Re your comment on the Thurday group change not necessarily:j

I think Thursday is a cool day for it for a few reasons but this is magics head
    Different strokes for different folks

I like Thursdays too but do understand the reasoning behind Mondays. I saw a word in the paper especially coined for those trying to lose weight 'weakend'. All to easy to be synful without the discipline of the working week.

Frogga that's part of working I don't miss - getting sworn at my pupils and parents :( hope your okay tonight and haven't let it ruin your evening x

Me neither but do have an amusing story, relevant to the thread. A colleague had reason to tell a girl off for misdemeanour and pupil responded by telling her 'Shut up you fat cow!'. Colleague was mortified. As she explained, she could cope with being called a cow but fat!! She'd spent a fortune losing loads of weight over recent months. From that day onwards, all celebratory buffet lunches at work were known as 'Fat Cow Day'.:)

I find this thread really helpful too. I'm determined not to slip back into bad ways. BTW, I know tie has been around longer than me and beanie too. I suppose it's like a RL group in some respects as people come and go and others keep rejoining!:rotfl:

Hi I'm thinking of starting the SW plan, I've bought the books from Ebay :-) I didn't want to join a club because I only want to lose 7lbs. Will I still have 5-15 syns per day or less? Many thanks

    Welcome:)
Saving syns isn't necessarily going to speed up weightloss. I'd suggest you start off following the plan exactly as it's written. It might not work quickly as you have so little to lose. If that happens then there are ways of tweaking, such as Success Express. Keep us posted with progress.

anoneemoose, I believe that exercise is good for toning but it's the eating plan that's going to help you lose weight. Due to sheer idleness:o I lost weight with virtually no exercise at all. Medication is another issue. Consultants to tend to admit that certain drugs can hinder weightloss but that's about all the detail I've ever heard. Whatever happens, it's a healthy way of eating.

Belated birthday wishes tbear x don't worry about a gain on your birthday...

Massive support to all those who've put on.. I might be joining you this week and it's only my first week :o remember if you've been eating out/eating ready meals then the food contains a lot more salt than if you make it at home.. on Biggest Loser they said salt makes your body hold on to water(or something to that effect) therefore, making you heavier, might be true! :rotfl:

Frogga - great post :D it's spurred me on to get back on track today x

Lantanna - great loss :T and in only 21 weeks, you must be so proud! Enjoy your gin, you've earnt it!

Anon - why don't you just start here and if you feel it's not helping as much as you'd like it too then join class in a few weeks. None of us will judge if you have a slow weight loss ( I always have a slow loss and have none of the reasons you do - just love bread and crisps too much:rotfl:)

Well I've no idea what i'm eating today :( I've just had toast for breakfast and no lunch, after reading froggas post I know I need to get back on track but what to do, what to do.. going to have a mooch around in the cupboards see what there is!

eta. I've found something so food today - green day:
    B - 2 toast and spread (heb, 2)
L - WW greek yogurt thing (0.5) ryvita (heb), cheese (hea) beetroot

S - milk in tea (hea)

    xx

Well done Lantana, great loss matey, that's the way to do it  You've started the ball rolling, who can beat that for week one I wonder?

Weigh in for me on Monday morning, may consider amputation of a limb if it looks like I haven't lost :D

    Hi all,

Well done Lantanna, you're doing so well! Beanie and Maman and others that are struggling, that'll be off again in no time. Frogga said it all, just need to get back on the wagon and once you've done one good day suddenly seems so much easier.

Becks - well done on your loss! The evening is my worst time too, especially for nibbling sweet things, and now that it's 'allowed' I'm worse! My mum suggested having dessert as that's something I never do but we used to do all the time when I was a kid. We always have something sweet in the evening but not a proper dessert, so tonight I'm planning to stew a few figs and a couple of plums from the garden and have them with Greek yogurt - hopefully it'll curb the sugar cravings! I've still been losing despite eating too many sweet things but I'd like to get out of the habit really.

Magic and Frogga - you both crack me up! :rotfl:

Lantanna - there have been many people come and go since I've been on here, as Maman says, just like in a real class. It's a shame really and some people were here for quite a while but I hope they are still carrying on with it.

I'm sure I had more to ramble about but mind has gone blank, Friday afternoon syndrome! Anyway, have a great weekend folks :)

I would got for a chana Dahl (chickpea curry) with plain rice & Bombay pots or sagg aloo - all for 12 syns! (Chana Dahl = 5syns, Bombay pots = 7 syns)

If you wanted some meat with it - I would get the chicken tikka (not in sauce) & count couple of syns

    HTH x

Wow, that's brilliant, thank you! The other thing I was considering was the tandoori mixed grill? Will look this up when I get home :D

In trying to be good, honest!! :o

A friend has just brought me some chicken pie made with shortcrust pastry fresh chicken many sins please lol
  • Hi all

I am sure loads of you know this but I am going to costco this evening and was just looking up what can I get in costco SW etc etc and found something you may all know you wine drinkers

stowells light wine I know I know its 5.5% but allegedly the WHOLE bottle is 8.5 syns thats great and can get in Asda and Tescos now sorry if you all know this already but thought it was something worth sharing 2 bottles of this same ABV as one normal bottle and 17 syns for 2 bottles cool or what

never had it but got to be worth a try
  • Thanks again everyone! I think I shall start on monday (got a family doo on Sunday) and I will just do it on here. I know the basics and can find the syn value for things. Just gonna have to try and think of some meal ideas that are quick and easy for the nights I literally have NO energy! I might do some soups and freeze and at least i have lunches and snacks.

Does anyone NOT use frylite? And if not, what do you use instead?

I shall post some of my ideas and check they're ok. I don't eat breakfast either so not too worried about that.
