I'm a bit behind with posts hence the belated comments from me above to some posts made earlier in the week.
Out of interest, I've decided (not sure why!) (it seemed like a good idea at the time!!!) to go back to a running group I joined last year. They usually run 2-3 times a week but I'm going to start slow and build up... anyhow, I'm unsure what to do about meals because I get in from work, sit round for an hour then out running for an hour so its about 8pm before I'm home and I don't really want to be making sw chips at that time. Does anyone have any ideas for meals that I have on running nights? I'm usually *starving* and did in the past be naughty and not count the food (you know because the running efforts I had put in cancelled it out) but I've made the decision that I really want to make some headway with shifting some pounds and I'm hoping running will help.0 -
I got my 1.5 stone award today 1lb off, will try harder next week. I knew I couldn't stay to group so didn't have the added incentive of having my weekly result read out in group! Think I'll try the magic porridge or I read that if you soak in water overnight it tastes as good as when made with milk - anyone tried this?
I only soak mine for about 10 minutes, then microwave for 2 mins, stir in the Mullerlight and microwave again for about 15 seconds just to warm it a bit. Add fruit and enjoy!
It's definitely as creamy just soaking.

Feeling just about human again after food! I feel like I've been at the gym I'm so tired and sore lol. Too old for this. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Can you make extra bolognese/lasagne next time you make one & have that ready to chuck in a mircowave on your late nights? Failing that I always used to have a Pasta n Sauce packet on my late night home from college last time I did SW
Depends what days you prefer doing but my quick 'scratch' dinner on a green day is penne pasta topped with baked beans & HEa grated cheese :cool:0 -

I didn't really make a cheese sauce, just chucked loads of cheese and a little milk over hot pasta and stirred it til it melted lol.
Not really a proper macaroni cheese but it definitely hit the spot:DThe trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
I haven't tried this but I've been looking for a low syn or free cheese sauce for lasagne and cauliflower cheese
4 tsps of corn flour 4syns
(tried it with ordinary flour though but it wasn't right)
250ml semi skimmed milk HEB
Mix corn flour with a little of milk
Gradually add rest of milk
Heat in a sauce pan until it thickens
Or heat in microwave
Add 40g reduced cheddar HEA
Or
Morrisons do a pkt instant cheese sauce for 4 syns for a third serving”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
Put on some lipstick
and pull yourself together”

Hello all. Some of you might remember me but because of illness etc etc I have not taken care of myself. I rejoined SW in April. Since then I have lost only 10lb. that includes a couple of long weekends away! It is very slow with no big losses – ½ or 1 lb a week. But I am happy with that. I have enjoyed all your posts and some great ideas. This site has kept me sane!! I thought it was time to come out from lurkdom and say hello and thank you.
I came across this site and although most know the sites I thought this was a fun way of seeing the food. (I hope this works.)

Will try that recipe soon! Just looked at the Schwartz & Colman's packet cheese sauces & they are 7.5 & 8 syns a packet, so between the two of us wouldn't be so bad occasionally0 -

Or, just open a tin of beans with fried eggs. Maybe new potatos from a tin?
