Well done Becks, fab loss!Me too!
Shame about the promised rain in Toulouse Blodwen. I know the area, my nephew lived there for a few years and I've had some holidays in the foothills of Pyrenees. I'm sure the wedding will go well despite the weather. Maybe it'll be lovely between showers.
Let's hope so - just had another look and now they're saying rain all Sat afternoon but Sunday (when the wedding party are hosting a BBQ) looks ok until a storm late afternoon! Maybe the forecast will change again before the weekend *crosses fingers*Evening Ladies  Glad you are all well :grouphug:

Really tired after first day back at school. Got up at 4.30 as otherwise there just aren't enough hours in the day to do all that is needed. Enjoyed the cycle to work :j(not really, I was propper pooped but I'm trying to fool myself so don't say anything :silenced:)
...a lady at school has been doing the 5;2 diet. She lost 1 whole stone in the holidays. She said she has 500 cals on two days of the week, and eats quite badly the other 5 days? She's an old hand at SW and she said the 5;2 is the best thing she ever did.
She said on the 500 Fasting days she has melon for brekkie, mugshot for lunch and salad for tea. Interested to hear what you all think. I'm not sure I should have a go as you know I have a history of eating dissorders so I don't think starving myself again would be very sensible, but I am temptedI wouldn't stuff on the 5 days, just do normal SW Green like always.
Don't shout or tell me off, you know you love me and I'm just asking
4.30?! Don't worry about the cycling - it's always hard when you get back into it, even after a short break, but your fitness will come back quickly and you'll wonder why you ever found it hardYes I think you are all right  I'm doing ok so why change things? I'll just keep going, it was tempting thoughI'd just like to get it off quicker, you know what an impatient Frog I am. But, slow and sure wins the race
Thanks girls xxxxxxxxx
I think it depends why you want to do it - 5:2 doesn't really give any quicker results that SW (apparently the average is 1lb per week), it's just an alternative. I started it because I had a bit of SW fatigue and wasn't really losing much anymore and fancied a change. I think it often seems to work for people who have stopped losing because they're close to target and it's worked for me - I've lost around 17lb in 11 weeks which is more than I was losing on SW at this stage. I don't do it in conjunction with SW per se, but most of my meals naturally seem to be SW friendly or else I just seem to eat less and more healthily now. The main difference is I have more sweet treats in the evening (probably not great but I like it and it hasn't seemed to affect my losses) and if I miss a meal for whatever reason I don't worry about it or think I should be having a regular 3 meals a day, which can be pushed a bit at SW (depending on the consultant I think). It certainly helps with socialising as you can eat or drink out without worrying, but I don't go out that much anyway so that side of it isn't a big thing for me. If you have a history of eating disorders you do have to be careful as it can be easy to stray back into that territory, but really if you're happy with SW and it's working for you why not carry on- 5:2 is always something to consider further down the line if you need to.2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]

If you keep 5:2-ing, you will keep losing but I don't think there was a maintenance plan.
There is - well people use a variety but the most common is 6:1, i.e. just 1 fast day a week.2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]

EEK!! just wanted to use up some stuff in the freezer and thought I'd check syns before I eat. Can't believe Tesco nut cutlets are 13 syns. They are just vegetably discs, most unappetising. I have taken it out of oven and am going to bin it - I can't use 13 syns on that. I know it has Nut in the title but still..
Ha ha this made me laugh - 13 syns on a nut cutlet indeed!
Feeling a touch better today - long may it last.
Got out for a good walk last night and will do the same tonight.
Muller for Breakfast
Scrambled eggs with cheese red pepper and five beans for lunch
No idea what tea is going to consist of yet but there is broccoli, leak and courgette that need something doing with them in the fridge. Will maybe have with some noodles.
Don't think the 5.2 would work for me as I'd probably go wild on the 5 days after the deprivation of the 2 days. Although I seem a little stuck at the minute SW is working for me and I like that I can fill myself with Free Foods.
Getting back on form now and am going to make sure I've this 2 stone off by Christmas. WI tomorrow and it ain't going to be pretty but will deal with it and crack on!! :T0 -
Morning all:)
Pleased to report that I'm still feeling thin! As I don't weigh then my ups and downs come with how my clothes feel and today's a thin day! As the sun is still shining here I'm making the most of a maxi 'tube' dress I bought for my holidays that will soon have to go to the back of the wardrobe. I'm not boasting (honest:o) but I just want to share how good it can feel.
EE day planned here:
B: 2 boiled eggs, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas
L: I'll be out so may have a banana or a bit of LO casserole later if I'm hungrychicken stir fry (mange tout, spring onion, mushroom, carrot, courgettes) with rice
Syns: honey in stir fry sauce
Your lunch looks yummy, lantanna.
Blodwen, I agree that after a while you get locked into eating healthily on SW as a habit. So, although I know I've introduced a few more syns to the menu (esp. into sauces) the basic meals are all lean meat and veg based with carbs cooked plain or with frylight. I do enjoy the odd blow out but the bloated feeling afterwards is rarely worth it. I think it's a mixture of physical and psychological.0 -
Hi all, hope you're all well.
B; fruit salad & yoghurt
L; dynorod soup - nom nom!
D; fishcakes (6), mash or sw chips & mixed veg
Feeling very tired again this morning - don't know what's wrong with me. I'd go to bed earlier if I thought it would help, but I can't get to sleep even if I do0 -

It's an odd one, this - most people who do it find that they might go a bit mad to start with because suddenly all this stuff is allowed, but then for the same reason the temptation isn't there which is pretty liberating. A lot of people will also say (my OH being one of them) "oh I couldn't do that, I need to eat every x hours or I faint/collapse/die", which of course they won't (unless they're diabetic). I thought my mum was going to say that when I told her I was going to try it but she was all for it and decided to give it a go herself - 10 or so weeks in and she's lost as much as she did in a year at SW, is much happier with what she's eating and is also now only half a stone from target. I don't feel deprived on fast days, in fact sometimes I do a third fast day a week because I can, and obviously I think it's great, but don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to recruit anyone, just giving another view from someone whose done it with reasonable success. That said, SW works if you stick to it - I have them to thank for over 5 stone lost - and if you're happy doing it there's no reason to change!

Blodwen, I think I probably made this mistake and perhaps did not give it a chance - after a few days of pigging out, I thought I was doomed to spend all my time eating rubbish just because I could, and even two fast days would not be able to undo that. Maybe if I'd done a few weeks the novelty of eating what I liked would have worn off; how many packs of wine gums can one person eat in a day?
I am going to do the six week challenge here but am slowly changing my opinion on 5:2. Thanks for info.0 -
