Dinner chicken story fry with blackened Cajun spices and a stir fry with umpteen vegetables including aubergines asparagus peppers okra read onions and bean sprouts
Sugar free jelly as well and in between a pink grapefruit muller light and another piece of fruit as well as snacks

Hello all
I had a half hearted bash at SW last year, however was more there to support a friend who did really well! However, since then I've stopped smoking, and over the last couple on months I seem to have found a stone I could do without, on top of the half stone I was halfhardheartedly trying to lose last yearNot been too well this year either, which has meant less energy to busy around so I need to get my exercise levels up and plan to go out walking during my lunch hours starting tomorrow. I've weighed myself at 10st 10lbs this morning. Id like to get to 9 stone 7, a little less would be good, but at least my clothes would fit at that......
So, Im going to be doing EE, I can eat pretty much anything except eggs. Today looks like:-
B - Blueberries Strawberries and fat free natural Yoghurt
L - Carrot and Lentil Soup (Ilb carrots, onion, and 2 handfuls lentils = 2 portions)
D -Chicken broccoli carrots home made gravy boiled salad potatoes
HEA - milk for coffee and tea
HEB - bread with soup
Snacks - apples and pears.
Any thoughts?
Syns - well, this is all due to less exercise and nibbling instead of smokingI like a glass of wine most nights, but might try to reduce those through the week and save for weekends. Nibbling wise, its the crisps and peanuts which are my downfall so I have emptied the house of them
. From reading here I think I will go and get some curly wurlies and walnut whips for emergencies though I can normally do without chocolate easily and would rather snack on healthier options
I also need to make sure my work lunches are organised as whilst I have access to a range of choices, even the seemingly healthy ones appear to be laden with syns and I've discovered that the wholemeal tuna and salad baguette I had for lunch twice this week would weigh in at about 30 syns or more each time
I'm not going to be going to a class so hope this thread will be my reminder and support

Hi Penny, my Tadpole says the same about his mates. They eat nothing but carp & fizzy pop and they are all stick thin
I looked round and everyone and I mean everyone has chips. Then they have fish, big sausages, pies and some even have bread rolls and butter as well.
Oddly enough I had exactly the same thoughts yesterday. DH and I were in the city from early morning until 6 so needed some lunch. We ventured into the food court of the main shopping mall. We decided on a Toby carvery mini place. I didn't know they existed! Yet again I had a flexi lunch.:(:o A pork/salad roll on the healthiest looking bread they did and a bag of mini roast potatoes. Not even thinking about the syns. Sitting around us were people who'd bought from McD's, KFC, Harry Ramsden's etc. BUT they definitely weren't stick thin!
I spent the whole afternoon and evening feeling fat and miserable. I just hate it when my clothes feel tight and uncomfortable. AFTER we'd eaten I noticed another salad place and a jacket potato one so I won't fall into the junk trap again.
Other meals yesterday were perfect SW and today's plan is good:
B: NAS Ribena, egg, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas
L: big bowl of strawberries with FF yogurtroast pork (must avoid the crackling) done on a bed of carrots, celery and red onion, roast potatoes, cauli and broccoli
Syns: weekend wine, HM gravy
I know Monday and Tuesday will be good days. Wednesday I'm out for lunch at a friend's home so no idea what I'll have. Thursday we're away for a few days. THEN I'm really hoping I can settle into a low syn September.0 -

:hello:welcome tyadog, you're in the right place for support. Looking at your menu for today, it looks fine and the only syns so far will be in the HM gravy.
Like you I enjoy my wine. I prioritise my syns for that. Before I started SW I decided to stop drinking mid-week (except holidays and special occasions) and have my wine at weekends. I prefer that to just a glass during the week. But each to his own.
I'm not sure what you meant exactly by your work lunches. Do you mean you can buy from lots of places or that your workplace provides meals? The best way is to make your own. Is that what you're asking?0 -

I use the white chocolate options with muller light vanilla yogs, and then add frozen fruit from the freezer, the options makes the yogurt tastes like a milkybar, and the fruit goes towards my 1/3 It is very sweet and sickly, but sometimes you just need that hit - and for only 2 syns! Its one of my firm favourite sweet treats.0 -

Welcome! what you have to remember if you are buying lunch from a canteen there will lots of hidden syns in dressings and spreads. If you are able to it really is best to make your own lunches. Only wholemeal bread is syn free, and that is if you count it as a Healthy Extra. White bread or baguettes are full of hidden sugars.0 -

Becks that sounds scrummy will definitely give that a go
Thanks a million:T0 -
Thanks all for your replies!
I don't have a canteen at work but am in a city centre with access to all sorts, however that is where things can go wrong yes. I need to make time of an evening to prepare lunch and then remember to take it with me.
I'm doing well today so far, have stuck to menu plan, need to syn some extra milk for tea and coffees. I've also got loads of salad (no dressing) chicken and cous cous for lunch sorted out already, phew! My bread was wholemeal as I am trying to steer clear of refined carbs anyway.
My gravy was basically made be gently cooking the chicken in water, adding a stock cube and a splash of wine and some fresh hers, so it was watery rather than thick. Any ideas how I should syn that?
tomorrow is looking like this therefore:-
B -fat free natural yoghurt, berries
L - chicken, salad cous cous
D - chicken, broccoli, carrots and brown rice
S - apple, carrot sticks
HEA semi skimmed milk
HEB - wholemeal bread
Ive also been really busy on my allotment for a few hours today so the exercise level has been more like what Id usually do, but haven't been able to this year til now, so that's a bonus too.
Danger time approaches, its evening, Im sat on the couch and this is when the nibbling can start for something to do with my hands. Im going to have a bath soon and get organised for work.
Then it will be wine time, but being conscious of amounts - Maman like you I will prioritise syns for wine!
Brought a load of rhubarb home from the plot and stewed it (with no sugar) to have through the week with yoghurt.
Hope everyone else is doing well
