Well done mumoftwo right attitude so you had a bad day but its over and you are back on plan for today That in itself is great
:T
I was exactly the same as you when I was trying to lose weight before as soon as I came off the wagon I would go to hell with it but the fact of you being in the mindset to get straight back on is brilliant.:j
Bread I adore I could live on toast and butter so I find it hard as well
The only thing helping is that the OH is not eating much bread either and crusty rolls and he,s anybody's,s :rotfl: so they are not in the house at present.
Frogga in terms of meals
I have breakfast when I get into work so about 830
Lunch 1230 ish
Dinner is about 8 830 not ideal but I work in London and my commute is 1 hr 15 so by the time I get home and add a half an hour for making dinner it's around then.
Today already had a pint of water and am WFH so have a bottle beside me and will drink away at that
Going to try mashing the scan bran with water and adding them to weetabix
Not 5 of them maybe 2 or 3
Lunch tin of tuna or some salmon and salad and dinner bacon chops with vegetables and sugar free jelly
Made 2 loads of it last night one in each Pyrex 1 pint jug thing and Oh and I ate it all
I thought it was great and definitely helped take the edge off as I was desperate for something sweet
Have a great day everyone:)0 -
Mum of two - Bread is my biggest weakness, strangely though since I started this at the beginning of April I've only been eating the Hovis Nimble and never finish a loaf in a week.
I do find though that now when I do have a couple of slices I do feel bloated (but I have major problems with this anyway)
I love bread all the different varieties etc but unfortunately its either all or nothing with me so that's why I stay away from it. I was actually thinking the other night wouldn't it be great if you could buy bread by the slice lol:) as once its the house I just demolish it - If you could buy two nice slices I'd be a happy bunny - I don't have the discipline and it wouldn't last very long in the freezer either. Since the 8th of April I've not bought or eaten any butter either and find I don't miss it.
Mich City - Well done a fab loss :T
Frogga - I eat my Breakfast in work at 10am on the weekends slightly later, lunch is at 1pm and then dinner is normally around 6.30 by the time I get home and get it made.
About 8.30 I'm generally looking for something else!:rotfl:
Last night was pretty bold - this is my problem the weekend!!!
Had a WW Chicken Curry (Can't believe it 4.5 syns)! Was tired and home late and just wanted something I could heat u.
Two bags of Velvet Crunch and 4 G & Diet Tonics - and so the weekend begins............:rotfl:
Plan of attack for today:
B: Muller
L: Chicken Salad with Boiled Egg and Baby Belveg stirfry with noodles
I have a friend coming round for drinks so no doubt the velvet crunch will be out again!!
I'd be interested to know how much you all spend on food ? I'm a single person and so far this week I've spent £32. Is this bad ? I'll have to go back on Sunday to get some more fresh stuff. Since joining SW my food bills have escalated:eek:0 -
Hi Lantanna
There are two of us and we spend about 60 a week but that includes all non food bits so I guess it's about 40
Shopping list never really changes we buy about 12 muller lights thy re usually on offer in some way or other and buy chicken fillets usually th 3 for ten pound backs you can mix
I do love morrisons 2 for 3.50 salmon that you can get at their counter slightly smoked or with lime teriyaki etc tend to get 4
I know it seems a bit expensive but if I think of the money each day when I was buying lunch in work or all my lattes then I'm still quids in
Fresh veg tend to buy bag of bean sprouts and peppers (they are expensive) but sometimes they on bit of offer and fresh salad stuff radishes spring onions lots of onions and also some mushrooms
Tend to buy ome staple weekly like a canderel or. At free dressing just top up with them going along but I agree with you it costs more o eat healthy food
I don't tend to eat potatoes and pasta because for some unknown reason it automatically puts weight on me must be. Body thing but if I could I would be buying more of that
I love checking out h scene in a upper market late evening when a lot of fish and meat is reduced and putting it in freezer that's a great way to do it but that's luck of timing0 -
Since joining SW my food bills have escalated:eek:
I quite agree! I'm finding it hard to buy the things I ought to be eating.
Another 3lbs lost at weigh-in last night. :j I was pleased as last week was STS which disappointed me no end! Only 3.5lbs to go for my first stone award. As well as a certificate and sticker, our consultant gives us a pretty glass pebble in a voile bag for each stone lost. I can't wait!!

Stitching witch - well done! :T
I'm 3 lb off my 3 stone award so hope to get it very soon.
It feels great doesn't it when you have a good loss.
I can honestly say its buying fresh fruit and veg that has sent my bills up. I don't buy any fancy meat and am lucky to get a small meat parcel given to me every week.
I don't eat much potatoes, pasta or rice (20g of rice and pasta is my portion size usually - I only have potatoes once in a while - made into chips on a Saturday night or the odd baked potato - its all the veg I have to buy to pad out my meals.
Still I'd rather have this weight off than be spending less and still a Size 20.
Its an absolute disgrace that it costs more to be healthy and the cheap foods are all the ones that are bad for you. No wonder we are a nation with weight and health problems.
Dr's recommend to Cancer patients that they eat lots of blueberries - but have you seen the price of them! Not very realistic !
Rant over for the day lol
Have a good day all :beer:0 -
Weeks and weeks of maintaining and gaining the odd pound but finally lost 2 lbs this week.0
-
Stitch witch great loss very well done that is brilliant :T:j
Fab wight loss and a lovely thing that the SWC does re the stone in the bag
Lantanna I join you on the soapbox I think it's a disgrace too that basically it is a lot cheaper to feed a family/eat food that's not as good for you and funny your comment re blueberries I was the same I only bought them when they were on offer at a pound all fruit is a dreadful price and veg are not exactly cheap either
I don't live near a place where there is a market where could get better value stuff so I find myself thinking when shopping what else can I do
Sometimes I get the frozen stuff too to bulk them out It is a great incentive though as you say re coming down in clothes size because my other soapbox is how in a number of places they automatically up the prices of bigger sizes as they know people have less choice places to shop so they can
Onwards and upwards

Congratulations on the loss (you too penny), and the pebble idea is fantastic. What a thoughtful consultant.:) It can often happen that a STS is followed by a decent drop. It's often happened to me.
I do think it's a disgrace that most of the offers are on junk but, in general, I find we eat quite well on £25 a head (I cook for two mostly). It's not easy to fit in around everyday life but, just like SW, planning is the answer. The OS and food shopping boards are full of ideas for frugal shopping/cooking/eating. It's a good point magibucks that snacking on things like coffees and chocolate bars is expensive compared with SW foods. I find the most cost effective way is to make HM ready meals and keep meat portions small. Plus I buy most basics in Aldi.
mo2:T on dragging yourself back on plan. It's so easy to say 's*d it'. If bread is your absolute favourite way of having syns then factor that in. I only miss bread because of the ease of having a sandwich. I now mostly have my single slice at breakfast. I know carbs don't agree with some of you but I find potatoes to fry gives me that bit of substance that bread used to occupy. So if I've had cereal for breakfast I'll try and have some fried potatoes or a bubble&squeak type thing at lunchtime.
So far today I've had beans on toast. Don't know what else I'm having as today is meal plan and shopping day. That's a job for later.0 -
Food shopping is definitely more expensive on SW because of all the fruit and veg. I try to buy as seasonally as possible, although I do buy bananas all year round.
I grow such veg as it helps to keep the cost down a bit. I've only got a small bit of garden that I can use so vary what I grow each year. This year it's been potatoes and onions. Carrots and tomatoes in pots. I'm also trying cucumber and courgette although not successfully! Haven't had anything from either of them.
Mealtimes for me are: breakfast anywhere between 7am and 10am; lunch sometime between 12.00 and 2pm; dinner is usually between 5.45pm - 6.30pm depending on how hungry DH is feeling!

well done on the losses ladies.. fab stuff
I am or rather I was a bread fiend, lived on toast and sandwiches.. since starting SW I've virtually given it up and am surprised that i'm not really missing it at all..
i'm spending miles more on my shopping too, was talking about this with my sis last night.. am going to start going to aldi for my veg and other bits.. tesco/asda prices are getting far too high.
i'm not far from Bury market either so really should go there for veg and the fish/meat market! I suppose you get into the routine of getting it all in one place.. its going to have to change!0
