The SW website gives you recommended weights for heights, or it used to.

I'm not sure about the website but it's certainly in one of the booklets that come with the SW pack. It looks a bit like this:

    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTIVKul3dnUufscbvfuY_Ev9qx3YwWbR_wPP7gNmnt_t1tJpf2W

When I set my target I just conjured up a weight I remembered being for most of my adult life. It seemed a long way off at the time. My main size target was to be a 'small size 12'. I think if I started again I wouldn't have a weight target. I'd just keep losing until I was happy with my size and the way I looked and then call a halt.

I was nominated for Woman of the Year but declined. I had to say to the consultant that although I was happy to share my experiences within my group that my way of doing SW is somewhat unorthodox and not for wider consumption. Do you really think SW would want someone in the magazine with a starting point of 75+ wine syns a week!:rotfl:

I'm so glad I made the frittata yesterday. Good to munch on this evening and as it's got loads of SF in it feels positively virtuous.

Hello people  all still fine here in the pond ... Sending special 'hello's to Beanie, Maman, TIE, Blackberry, Inazuma, TravellingLight, Millerrose, Tracey, B17, Blodwen, jane, magicbucks, pee, joedenise, Mr O, MedMum, Steph, (panicing that I've forgotten someone?:o)

So my guests have gone :( Really sad to see them go. But I'm very very pleased that I managed their whole visit without over eating, bingeing or even having any naughty food thoughts at all. Long may my restraint continue.

I did the bike ride again with Tadpole 2 last night. I'm still very achy over the top of my back and chest but I'm ignoring it ;)

It's very nearly the end of week 3 of the Summer Holidays so we're nearly half way through. I really hope to have lost more on Monday morning so I can feel it's all been worth it.

I've got a habit of looking so far in advance into the future wondering if I'll ever make it to target. Think I need to just take one day at a time, one week at a time, and then hope that they all add up :T

Have a really good day humans. Thanks for all the possitive little comments from everyone. We're a good bunch aren't we

    Morning all,
Morning everyone. Joined our local group on Monday eve, have been to SW before & lost enthusiasm, but this time I've joined with my OH as we are getting married in April & I currently don't fit in my dress
On day 2 I just feel like I'm not getting enough 'crunch' in my diet. Have been having fat-free natural yogurt and fresh strawbs for breakfast, but i'd love to add a spoonfull of oats or seeds, was thinking flaxseed, but that seems quite high in syns. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm using my HB on a Hi-Fi bar to get my chocolate fix, so would love a low-syn idea please x

As Maman says, you've got ages and will probably need the dress taking in :) Re. breakfast - I like having some crunch too and one of my favourites is frozen mixed berries with natural yogurt, a spoonful of honey or golden syrup drizzled over and one weetabix crumbled over the top. Since a weetabix is only half a HEB it leaves the other half for a hifi light later on as a sweet treat.
Woo hoo -2.5 lb this week. Determined to have another good one. I've last 3 st 6 lb so far. I have never had a target weight as I find it confusing. At the start it seemed too far way to matter...as I lost more it seemed hard to imagine what target would look like? Now I look at my bmi and what I should weigh and am more infused. What do u think of bmi and their idea of best weight? I'm in my mid 40s, female and 5 ft 3 ..... Now what should I aim for?

Well done! I think most of us struggle to set a target, especially if we've never been at a weight we're happy with which we can use as a reference. I set mine purely because 100lb is a nice round number but I think I'll go for more. Partly depends on your frame size too - my BMI is 25.1 atm so only just over the line for healthy but even though I'm 5'11 and would have thought I'd have a large frame with having quite big hands and size 9 feet  I don't think I look slim with a BMI of anything over about 23, so am going for that eventually. I do see people who I weigh at fat club who are the same weight as me or heavier and shorter but look slimmer, so I think in a lot of cases it's see how you look and feel when you get there. Not much help, sorry! :rotfl:

Thank you everyone for your kind comments :D

My journey hasn't been easy. I've had the unexplained gains and been heartbroken, but then again I've had the unexplained losses when I've been having a naughty week! Nobody journey is perfect, we all have that thing called life that gets in our way. Whether it be school holidays, family visits or holidays I'm sure there are times when we just want to say "Sod it!" And reach for the nearest chocolate bar to comfort us.

What's kept me going is my children...:) I look at them and want to run in the park with them without having to sit down on the bench, I want to take them swimming without feeling awkward and stared at, I want to have a life with them.

I've just found out that I've been nominated again for Woman of the Year 2013. It's quite sweet, but hope that someone else wins to give others a chance. I'd hate for people to think its favouritism. In my eyes, every single woman in my group is a winner. We all have stories to tell and we all have achieved so much - just by walking through those doors!

What a lovely reason for wanting to lose weight :) You're so right about life getting in the way - it's a wobbly path for most of us but as long as we are heading in the right direction we'll all get there in the end.

I do wonder if I might be nominated for WOTY - not to be bigheaded but when the leader was talking about me in class this week she suddenly went, "oh, it's WOTY next week" so I wondered if that was a hint (probably not now :rotfl: although I have possibly lost the most in my class and do help out and stay every week so I suppose that might help!). Will feel a bit of a fraud if I do get it as I'm not strictly following SW any more but am not telling them that! We'll see anyway, my assumption will probably come back and bite me on the bum :p

Still feeling a bit delicate today after dodgy tum yesterday, cycled in though and that was ok, plus today is a fast day which I think is probably a good thing to give my digestive system a break!

Have a good day all :)

Maman you make me laugh - my gin syns could rival your wine syns lol:rotfl::rotfl:

BI7c have a look on gumtree and see if there is anything going on in your area or post up an ad to see if there are any likeminded people you could meet up with (Don't forget to be safe though)!!:o

Maman - I don't know if I am eating enough or not but I feel so damn bloated this week. I ended up having an omelette last night instead of cabbage with the rest of the veg.

    Today's menu looks like this

    B: Muller Light & 2 Baby Bel
L: Chicken, Peppers, Lettuce, Boiled Egg (lots of chicken)

D: 3 egg omelette with bacon, peppers, mushrooms and onion, broccoli and baked bean snap pot

    Snacks: Pineapple or Watermelon
  • Thanks everyone, glad you all think I've started early enough, I probably need to lose a size for the dress to actualy button-up, so a very good incentive! Good advice on the frozen berries, that might just do the trick. If not the green or red days will probably suit me better, but I'm still trying to get my head around Extra Easy so might hold off on that for now :D

    Hi all :)

Breakfast today was 2 weetabix (HEB) with HEA milk from allowance topped with bananas, strawberries, plums and apple, 2 coffees and a lemon lime Activia fat free yoghurt.

Dinner will be Tuna pasta with a side salad and an orange.

Tea is Turkey Steak, new potatoes, peas, carrots and sweetcorn. I have made a SW Trifle from the Just Desserts book, so we are all having that.

Macpep ! My home had fleas last year courtesy of my little dog, I only had a few bites but the poor dog ended up taking a really bad allergic reaction to the bites and ended up with skin that was in really poor condition that led to her getting a steroid injection.

I found the only way to get rid was to constantly spray and vacuum everywhere. Not easy at all.

Does anyone watch Masterchef? John made these amazing Chicken Meatballs last night spiced with Indian Spices which I don't think would be too hard to make SW Friendly!

Well, my first week back on the SW wagon and I lost 2lb. This doesn't sound very good for week 1 BUT I did that stupid thing of thinking I'd really kick off after the weekend, even tho I'd already signed up for SW online and knew it would ask me to weigh on Thursday. Anyway, panic on Monday, so kept it very tight for a couple of days and squeaked in.

Travellinglight - I usually like to sit at the top range of healthy BMI but I find I can just flip over into 'overweight' with one good night out!
