    Another female gamer here.

I'm 61 now - love RPGs ... I own several consoles, but mostly play on the PC because I enjoy the player created expansions/enhancements, especially with TES games (working my way through Skyrim atm). I'm pretty useless at FPS games; I was desperate to play Quake when it was published but after hours of play I finally realised I'd always be pants at it!

I'm not keen on multiplayer games - except the co-op ones (usually old console games) which I play with my son when we get together (he lives about 200 miles away). We have finally, after several years of slog, finished "Champions of Norrath".

My favourite Megadrive game was Light Crusader.

Before computer games were available I enjoyed pinball (we own several machines) and I taught my kids D&D when they were quite small so I'd have someone handy to play against (my husband loathes it - and computer games!) When computer games became available I was absolutely over the moon :j. The first adventure game I played (in the late 1970's) was literally called "Adventure"

At work I used to collar the department's PDP-10 at lunchtimes to play - chasing dwarves round "a maze of twisty passages, all alike"

Only thing about colossal cave I remember is that I couldn't do it, love RPGs though

    Another female gamer here!

I'm in my thirties and I've been gaming on and off since I had a Commodore 64 around about aged 7. Mum had bought it with the intention of using it for word prcoessing, but being second hand it came with a ton of games so it became mine. It had a tape deck as well as a double disk drive. I loved it! I collected pretty much all of the Dizzy games and became a fan of text adventures such as Zork, too. I wrecked many a joystick (remember them?!) on my C64! I was gutted when Mum gave it away one summer when I was a teenager. I'd gone away for the weekend and came back to find it gone. I don't think I've ever forgiven her for that!

My first console was a Sega Mastersystem II. I'd asked for a Sega Mega Drive the first Christmas they were out, but the Mastersystem II was cheaper so I was slightly disappointed when I upwrapped it! Thankfully, a friend had been given a Mastersystem II as well, so it turned out good as we could swap games. I loved Sonic the Hedgehog, but I can't quite remember if I ever completed it or if I just got to the second to last level (more likely!). I still have the Mastersystem II, but don't know if it would hook up to the TV or even still work now.

I had a Gameboy for a while, but never really got into handheld games.

I think the PC came next and I migrated from text adventures to point & click adventure games (Monkey Island [1, 2 & 3], Zork Grand Inquisitor, Zork Nemisis, Police Quest, Discworld, Touche, Normality, Broken Sword... to name just a few!) as well as racing games.

I've since has a PS1, PS2 and a Wii... And, typically, just as the PS4 has been announced, I've bagged a PS3. I only bought it last weekend (and think I got a bargain!), so I've only got 5 games... GTA IV, Grand Turismo 5, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 3 and God of War.

So I'm definitely up for any PS3 adventure game recommendations!

Me and my girlfriend will play, often sandbox games, in turn.

It is really quite hard to find splitscreen co-ops that are any good.
And any game worth playing often requires a certain degree of ability, or are child-centric are quickly bore.

The FO series are good, but too story-heavy for her, anyone have any ideas of a pick up and play game?

Another female gamer here. In my 30s and been playing since we first had the Spectrum ZX (Dizzy and Outrun!!).

These days I'm an xbox 360 girl - my OH and I take turns, but he's a heavier gamer than me. Games like Portal and TombRaider I play constantly when I get them and I have to have them on release, but I'm currently working through Mass Effect 3 and then onto Assasin's Creed 3. I suspect we'll be getting the Xbox one when it comes out.

I don't do xbox online gaming - never been interested in capture the flag or FPS. The only online game I used to love was World of Warcraft, but I hate when you have to wait around for others to join your group so you can take on a big mission. Now a single player version of it on the console would be amazing!

Do any of you girls play Gta or CoD just wondering what type of games you play
    :)
  • Another one here :j

I'm 25 and only really play xbox now. Was a huge PC gamer from about the age of 17, mainly counterstrike! Played the normal megadrive and playstation with my brother when I was younger. Latest boyfriend got me into the xbox and I must say I prefer it over PC, so much better being able to play it from the comfort of my sofa. Really into Fable 3 at the mo (thanks for that xbox!), must get back into skyrim after this. Also play tomb raider and cod but not so much

I play GTA. I've just got back into gaming, so picked up GTA IV with my PS3.

I like a range of games and GTA seems to provide a mix of racing, action and adventure, and I quite enjoy the free roaming.

Usually play stuff like Assassins Creed, Gears of War, COD, Skyrim, Halo etc. Have a special place in my heart for Unreal Tournament and wish they'd make a new one as I still play UT3 to death and judging by the online games I join there's a fair old glut of us still playing!

Another male here, my OH - 27 is also a heavy gamer, Final Fantasy 7 & 8 ,State of decay on xbox 360, almost completed that!. Been on that game for ages!. She also plays GTA ,Halo ( i personally think its rubbish), but there you go. I myself used to play PC games back in the day, Battlefield 2 was my game at the time. Mainly because it had the online recording facility to record your stats.

I also game on the xbox, I play mainly Tekken 6, F1 2011 (almost complete), Mass Effect 3 ( just completed), COD (finished online now, got bored). Dead or alive series, amazing!. The move sets just look amazing, tekken again, the moves are not that hard to pull off, just need to practice. Also i've completed UFC undisputed. Big UFC fan.
