Used to be an avid PC gamer. Unfortunately due to a trapped nerve in my spine, having only one arm/hand to use I find it impossible these days. I do miss the banter though :)

Why does only having one hand/arm to use stop you from gaming? If it's due to not having enough digits to operate the keys/joypad you could always get an aid made up, if you wanted to get back into gaming.

  • I SOOO shouldn't have downloaded Fable 3 whilst it was free on Xbox live. Weekend involved doing very little else and I should have been doing the gardening *hangs head in utter shame*
Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!?

Mouse in right hand, keyboard for left hand. Can't see how any aid would help. It's the left that's the problem. Unless I got a mouse with 20 buttons and a few extra fingers to press them all :)

I have to say I've never taken abuse for being a female gamer. I do get hit on a lot though but I don't really mind it, I don't have great self-confidence and it does make me feel happy for a bit that people are interested in me.

Some wont get the hint that I'm taken though, been with OH for 4.5 years and I'm not giving him up for anyone :D

Mazza, have you ever thought about getting a mouse with a thumb pad? I have this one:

    http://gaming.logitech.com/en-gb/product/g600-mmo-gaming-mouse

It has 12 buttons on the thumb, which you can make macros for - I have found that I can do raid finder in wow now only using my right hand (nothing wrong with mine, just lazy!). I also have my push-to-talk button on another part of the mouse so I can chat with everyone easily. Perhaps worth a thought if it might allow you to reconnect with something that you love? :)

Looks excellent and I do like Logitech mice. TBH I have a few other problems too, like not being able to sit for more than 10 mins at a time, and I'm an FPS kinda gal lol. Usually campaign. So I gave it up completely, but that mouse looks like a great idea :D I do still interact with the gamers and keep an eye on our servers to make sure they are still kept clean and friendly.

I remember my first logitech mouse. Was a dual mouseman. Don't know if you remember them or not, but mine was special, got clogged with cat hair at one point and started acting like an aimbot :D Superb mouse lol

It depends on how much you want to get back into gaming, but the mouse mentioned above is a help. If you can move your left hand enough you could get a 4 way tilt switch made up, and/or foot controls.

    Me!

I'm a console girl at heart. In fact, I spent my Sunday evening trying to beat Streets of Rage III. Modern games don't have a patch on it.
