Any Female Gamers?

I'm a 25 year old gamer girl. My favourites are Left 4 Dead 2 (seriously, they need to make 3 by now!), Skyrim, Dead Space, Minecraft, the Half Life series, Fallout 3, Bioshock 1 + 2, various RPGs and when I want to relax I enjoy playing hidden object games.

These are all on my PC., I play co-op a lot with my boyfriend.

So we're more than a few years late but we are planning to buy a Wii, soon. We love the Mario Party series (play them via emulator on our PCs but want the real deal XP)

If I do play online I don't advertise the fact that I am female, although the information shows up in my profile. I haven't had any trouble. I guess because the games I play aren't that competitive/are mainly solo games.

24 y/o girl gamer here! Never had a console growing up so was all on the PC (classic Tomb Raider, etc!) but now I live in a house full of lads and another girl gamer - we often have weekends where we hook all the computers up and play massive network games

There are so many female gamers now, it's awesome. Don't really encounter much sexism now, but I tend to roll with the same people. We did get some unwanted attention back in the day once someone heard us talk on Teamspeak, but we used to get more abuse for being British on US servers to be honest!

Used to play Counter Strike, Starcraft and weird Korean MMOs far too much and you'd hardly ever get to joke around with another female, now there are so many people of all ages and backgrounds both playing and making games, it's incredible.

Just wish the high pitched girls that give us a bad name by using Call of Duty as an attention seeking tool would shut up and play, but don't we all.

Will be having a gaming weekend this weekend - going London with my sisters next weekend so won't be on it for a while

I'm a girl gamer too, mostly on xbox or pc.

Although I still get plenty of abusive messages. Especially ones calling me names because I just whooped their !!! on a game. Received my last one just yesterday actually.

Call me childish but my normal reply is "you were beaten by a girl.....lol".

What I have noticed though is that my female friends can/will sit and talk about non-game related stuff while playing where the guys tend to be mostly silent during game time - except for the odd comment about the match or having to respond to one of the girls.

Not sure if thats a girl gamer thing in general or just typical of my friends!
