As well as being a 18+ site (so no whiny kids!) we have a selection of female gamers, quite a few gaming couples as well.

I didnt realise its 1996, there are other ways to stop people spamming your site than simply banning new users from posting links....
Never heard of it but as I'm 45 I feel the need to go there now!!!'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.
I have opinions, you have opinions. All of our opinions are valid whether they are based on fact or feeling. Respect other peoples opinions, stop forcing your opinions on other people and the world will be a happier place.0 -

You'll fit right in, one chap I game with regularly is in his 50's and he's not the eldest:p Good mix of all consoles/PC too its not fussy.
Its not my site, I just use it, but I know the owners well and they work hard to keep it a fun friendly place to go.
Er enough promotion lol
Girl Gamers
A lass I play with often recounts tales to me of the abuse she can get when (a) she wipes the floor with some idiot and (b) they find out she's a girl. Very funny but a bit annoying
Something that was said to me once opened my eyes a little, the woman I sit next to a work and I were discussing hobbies and I mentioned Xbox/Video Games. She said "oh I play video games" and waved her Kindle Fire at me - I hadn't realised but I had being ignoring any non PC/Console players as not proper games, bit embarrassing:o0 -
Gamer girl here too. I like to think of myself as 'one of the lads', and what really gets my goat are the 'Gamur gurlz.' I played WoW for a while and they were everywhere, flirting and giggling on voice coms and using their gender to explore weak, feeble-minded males into giving them gold or items.
I have learned though when you are playing any sort of multiplayer game to avoid voice coms. Some fellas are very receptive, but some are downright awful. I've had some absolutely vile stuff in my time, mostly involving the word sl*t and wh**e and I'd love the community to change.
So lovely to hear there's so many of us! Haven't been lucky enough to meet any in the flesh unfortunately, and I must be awfully boring to my friends as I don't have much else to talk about0 -
Me too! Come the weekend I'll be kicking butt and getting my butt kicked playing Halo over xbox live. I picked a user name that doesn't say "43 year old woman" so at least I get to play evens."There is no substitute for time."

Another girl gamer here! Well, I haven't played much at all over the last couple of years so maybe I don't count as a gamer anymore, but I can't wait to beta test EQ Next or for the new multiplayer Elite to come out so I will be one again soon! Just haven't had anything to play that's really grabbed my attention in a while now.
I started playing Space Invaders and Pacman type games on friends' Amstrads or Spectrums in the mid 80s, because I'm old, moved on to my Amiga next (LOVED that thing - had Monkey Island, Elite, Dizzy...), various PC games after that (Diablo LAN parties, yay!) and then at university around 2002 I started playing Everquest, which I stuck with for years. Since then think I've tried nearly every western MMO out there except Guild Wars, but haven't really got into any of them properly. The only thing I've played recently is the very occasional bit of Skyrim.
Never experienced any sexism at all, as far as I remember on MMORPGs and the players were always fairly evenly split between male and female.
I don't own any consoles.Saving for deposit: Finished! :j
House buying: Finished!
Next task: Lots and lots of DIY0 -
I've gamed on and off since I was about 5, it started with the gameboy colour and pokemon mainly, after that, there was the gameboy advance, but I was more focused on the Playstation 1 (Harvest Moon), then we got the Playstation 2 and I wasn't really playing with gameboys so much, then out came the Wii, and the Playstation 2 went away, and I stopped playing for the most part because I don't really like the Wii all that much.
Then, after about 7 years, I started playing Visual Novels, and WoW (not anymore, I can't justify the expense) and got a Playstation 1 (Cheap, and I prefer gameplay over graphics, and all the games are really cheap too), and now I've nearly finished Spyro (finally, it got lost when we got the PS2). I'm thinking about maybe getting the PS2, so I've started a change pot and it has maybe a fiver in it so far....0 -
Can I be a girl gamer at heart? I used to love playing on my PS3 untill my DS was born....now another on the way... *stares longingly at playstation*People don't know what they want until you show them.0

Another gamer girl here. I usually play on my pc, but used to play on the PS3 a lot.
Haven't played for a while, but when I do play, lets just say I don't sleep too much for a few weeks and then that is my fix for a few months.
I agree with another poster on here about avoiding coms with online play as some of the other gamers can be very s3xist and sometimes really horrible but I guess that's because they don't like being beaten by a girl (sigh).
My older brother got me into gaming years ago. Mainly games like Red Alert and Battlefield etc... Not too much of a fan of COD though - (sorry COD fans!)..0 -
Me too. Been playing since I was about 5. I'm 29 now. Started on my Dad's old ZX Spectrum and Atari.
I'm considering FFXIV at the moment but might wait to see what happens with the PS4 - or just by a PS3 when the 4 comes out at a lower price when people upgrade. my ex took the PS3 with him when he left and I haven't been able to afford one since - I have a shelf of games and no console
Until I make some cash its just me and the Megadrive having a reunion.0 -
Another girl gamer here
Had my first console age 4/5 and never really stopped since. I have a slight addiction atm... been buying lots and lots of retro consoles. Currently have master system, about 4 mega drives, nes, snes, about 6 n64's, a couple of gba, 3 or 4 colour game boys, game gears and a ton of gamecubes. Play ps3 quite a bit and PC games. Me and my OH both play wow. Along with his sister and her husband
