I think it best getting this up the forum index with some specific input. I recall a similar thread (UKCPS?) that was endlessly bumped with no new commentary and was eventually kicked into the long grass by the Mods.
I think this one is too important to risk that. Here's the latest brush with bad PR from Aldi Towers.Hi Aldi stores, I wonder if you are aware of the car parking racket outside your store on Corporation street in Preston Lancs? I went in that retail park and shopped in 2 stores, yours and one other, and was 30 mins longer than the prescribed 1 hour time limit... (posted on tiny signs on the car park). I have just been hit with a parking fine for... £85 !!! if I had used your car park to run errands in town? then fine, but I went on their with the sole purpose of taking my old mum shopping!! She spent £48 in your store there, and is devastated that we incurred a fine. Isnt there some way if validating your receipts to prevent racketeers like this? how many other unsuspecting people have been his with this?? I would be interested to hear your thoughts??

Beefhead Brooke This is NOT a fine. Do not pay it. Hassle Aldi to cancel and if they do not go over to MSE or PePiPoo forums for help.

Gemma R Sedgwick £85?! What a con. Aldi should cancel that - don't be fobbed off if they say it's "not within their power", cos that's rubbish

Dump ParkingEye *** Prediction *** - Aldi ( or actually their PR company ) will be here soon with false apologies and suggesting you contact customer services. Hands up who thinks this is the right way to treat customers ? Aldi REFUSE to explain why they employ scammers who take their customers to court. That makes Aldi complicit and therefore scammers themselves. Personally I would ignore Aldi and pop over to MSE and Pepipoo to see how you can cost Parking Eye money. Let's keep costing Parking Eye money until they go bust. Oh, don't forget to tell EVERYONE that ALDI ARE RIPPING THEIR CUSTOMERS OFF AND THEY DON'T CARE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

John Butler Hi Jackie. Like your reference and wholly agree with the "tiny" signs. Its almost as if they were never intended to be actually read! Do take a photograph of them and complain to your local trading standards people. Then mention it to your local press and MP. Whatever you do, don't pay -dont grovelnt!!

An Aldi Customer over on the Facebook page is reporting receiving actual court papers. It will be interesting if Aldi will request PE to drop the case, and, if so, will PE be asking for their £50 "expenses".What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

The Aldi in Winchester has got a 90 minute parking limit.
Let the Waitrose next to it hasn't got a time limit on it's car-park (as far as I can see, although probably Britannia has an unlit sign at the back saying something like a 3 hour parking limit)0 -
Aldi Cambridge have no PPC infestation and it is refreshing to see their welcoming signs in the car park.
The signs are at a sensible, eye level, height. They are clearly visible with a large easily readable font size and with no petty terms and conditions or restrictions on timing etc. which you normally associate with PPC controlled car parks
and even an overflow car park
