I thought I would let you lovely people know that my darling sister has been moved from home to hospice today.

TBH we are relieved. She did not want the home care team calling and resisted that. So it came to this.

The hospice is absolutely gorgeous. She has her own room and patio doors out on to a fabulous deck where family and friends can sit with her.

Sad thing is, our nephew is getting married on 2 August (first of them) and her goal is to make it to the wedding.

    Please god she will.

Thanks again for all your lovely posts. I have read and re read them over and over. X

I read your thread when you first posted - you are very brave. What a horrible hard time for you all. Thank you for updating and I'm glad your sister is being cared for in such a lovely place. I wish you and your family all the best, and hope you can enjoy every moment you have with your sister.

I'm really sorry that your family is going through this, it's awful. I'm really pleased that your sister is in a lovely place. This really is the time when you need to say everything you have inside of you, and then, just sit in peace and be together.

I've been through something like what you're going through now. I truly hope your sister gets to the wedding and you all make some wonderful memories.

So sorry to hear about your sister :( From what you have mentioned though, she sounds like a fighter, here's hoping she makes it to your nephews wedding. Best wishes to you and your family x x

    Thanks so much.

In the middle of all this, Mum had an accident, head injury and is in hospital getting scans for a possible bleed in the brain. My brother in law also passed away tonight in the US suddenly.

    Oh dear me.

But we get the strength from somewhere I reckon.

No wonder I am still wide awake at this hour.

    Dear Melanzana,

Thanks for coming back with an update on the situation with your sister, and I'm glad that she is making choices that are what she wants right now.

But equally what a blow with your mum's health worries, and losing your BIL suddenly.

Too many very difficult and worrying situations right now, I suspect you are all running on adrenaline just to keep going and meet everyone's needs.

Look after yourself where you can, and keep an eye on your own wellbeing - these demands are very draining. You will get through it, somehow there are hidden reserves that we tap into, as you say, and later you will be able to recuperate.

I do hope you have some support - sometimes professional help in the form of counselling can help, or a visit to your own GP if it is all becoming overwhelming.

Best wishes to you, your sister and all your family for the coming weeks. :A

I can't believe how things are turning out for you right now. Turn to your friends for support if you need them.
    Sending my best wishes.
