Interparcel any good?

  • Personally I would suggest you pay 2-3 pounds less and get a better and more personal service by using any of the couriers listed in the courier cost cutting thread.

Couriers make claims fundamentally difficult for a reason, so you won't have much joy where ever you go or who ever you use. However we haven't had to make even one claim for loss or damage in over 2500 parcels with DHL. *touches wood*

Though it is worth saying, I personally much prefer them to parcel2go. For instance you can at least you can get half decent European rates with them, unlike p2go which are vastly inflated
  • Total waste of space AVOID

Used Interparcel to have a Parcel Collected from a Friend and Delivered to me
( Thats the point of Courier Companies )

Chose the DHL 48 Hour Guaranteed option
Parcel Collected on the Monday morning
    No problem there
Checked the tracking page shows arrived at Depot and departed at 16:25 Same day ( Its going well so far )
Here we are on Friday (96 Hours later )
    No Parcel
    No Tracking data available
Interparcel so called customer services couldnt care less
Promised to call me yesterday ( No they didnt !!! )
Called them again today Same story
They just say they have passed it back to DHL

    Use the Courier direct
Interparcel are just a paper outfit

    Avoid !!!!!
  • Their Lovely customer care wont say they have lost my Parcel just that
"They have Lost visibility of the item " They even asked me to describe the Parcel and how it was packed ????????
I explained i couldnt as i was the " Receipient " and had never seen the Package .
She didnt seem to understand !!!!!!

Shows the standard you have to deal with

    NEVER AGAIN
  • This thread happens to be the 2nd search result in google for interparcel.

Thus makes it a very easy target for it's competitors to attempt a bit of inter-industry sabotage, and from my experience on the main courier thread on here you have an awful lot that try to.

I'm not going to give the poster above the courtesy of replying in full, but for starters there is no such thing as a guaranteed 48hr delivery, and the fact you have just recited the procedure that any booking agent will go through when a parcel goes astray, with adding anger, is laughable.

If this is a marketing-ploy, it's rubbish. If not I don't think you are compatible with couriers as all couriers miss-route parcels from time to time, therefore it's probably best if you stick to Royal Mail Special Delivery.

I have been using them well over 2-3 years now, when things go wrong or packages lost or damage interparcel will make all sorts of excuses that they dont cover such items or products even if it’s not on their Prohibited items list.

This is the reality of their service. There customer support team is very bad and most of them talk back rudely over the phone. There Claims department and manager are even worse than the normal staff.

I suggest staying away from them if you value your customers. You will end up with weeks of problems with no money being paid. First they will make all the excuses in the world not to place your items into the claims department then after weeks or argument they will end up paying but your cheque will arrive 2 months later.

Interparcel may have the cheapest rate but the worst service. I suggest you end up paying 2-3 pounds more to another company who will take better care of the items going through there service.

I found this forum whilst looking for a alternative to them and decided il post our experience. Nearly 3 years of loyalty and 10 packages on average per week to them and we are still treated like kids. I’m fed up and will never recommend anyone to them.

I'm must completely disagree with with you. I used to use Interparcel and their Titan service mainly occasionaly DPD, UPS and DHL. I can say that sometimes things go wrong and parcels arrive damaged but from my personal experience in terms of insurance claims I had no even a single problem with them. We used to send large parcels and TNT damaged few of these but after around 30 days I always received a cheque with compensation. I recommend Louise if you have to report a claim.
Only problem with them is that sometimes their system doesn't transfer all orders to TNT depot and driver has only 4 instead of 6 parcels which we originally book for collection so we had to rebook these. I don't know whose fault it is Interparcel or TNT. Otherwise they are usually OK not fantastic but OK

I've been using them for years, only a couple of minor issues, always sorted out and staff have been fine, they always ring back and do sort things out.

    Interparcel are the best!

The failure of Interparcel Limited to deliver my parcel to Turkey

In September 2008 I decided to send two parcels to my new home in Turkey from my address in the UK. At the top of the Google rankings for parcel delivery from the UK to Turkey was a company called Interparcel Limited. They also turned out to be cheaper than the other companies at the top of the Google list.

I then used their online booking service to book the delivery of my parcels and they were duly collected on the 11th September.

It then took them until the 29th September to get my parcels to Istanbul airport in Turkey, going via Hatfield, London, Budapest, and Bulgaria. There my parcels remain in customs to this day the 21st November.

During the whole period we have been tracking these parcels and trying to get someone in Interparcel to take responsibility for our parcels. We have spoken to numerous people in Interparcel who have not taken any degree of responsibility for expediting delivery; they have promised to phone back on many occasions and never done so.

We have been told that the only way we can receive our parcels is to go to Istanbul airport and show a passport, and then we can collect them. We are now back in the UK and in any case Istanbul airport is 4 hours away from our address in Turkey.

When I booked the service online I addressed it to the local estate agent who works on the site where our new home has been built. This address is very specific and many parcels have been delivered there from different couriers and individuals. Indeed I ordered some posters from the UK; they were delivered directly to the agent five days later. We also know that the courier that Interparcel delegated this delivery to, DHL, are capable of delivering to this address and have done so many times before. DHL’s local agent has told us this.

During the booking process the Interparcel systems accepted the delivery address without any validation or warning that there might be a problem delivering to Turkey. I have since been told by a customer service manager called Joanna Thompson that Interparcel’s terms and conditions warn that some addresses in Turkey may not be ‘door to door’.

My issues with this claim are as follows.
    • Is it reasonable to expect a customer to check the terms and conditions for such a vague exclusion for a transaction which involves delivering a parcel? A customer should be able to assume that if he puts an accurate address on a parcel then a courier company accepting that parcel should be able to deliver it.
    • If there is some difficulty delivering the parcel to a particular area then the onus should be on the courier to check whether it can deliver, or at the very least warn the customer during the booking process that there may be a problem.
    • There is nothing in the terms and conditions which say that there may be a possibility that your parcel may not be delivered and you may need to go to the airport with a passport to collect it.
    • As far as I can tell most of the staff in Interparcel are unaware of the possibility that you may end up needing to go to the airport with a passport so what chance does the customer have of finding this out.

I have asked Interparcel on several occasions now to either find a local agent to deliver my parcels for me, which I believe is possible, or to return my items to the UK. They have refused to do this.

  • tbf, unless you can produce your invoice with corresponding dates you're not going to be taken seriously.

The 'stories' are long and certainly thought out. parcel2go has the most comprehensive and strategic marketing operation of all the re-sellers.

If you all have the time to explain everything in so in depth, I'm sure you can find the time to host an invoice.
