I just gave them a ring (I'm on my lunch break), and the first words were "calls are charged at 60 pence per minute!

0203 isn't a premium rate number, it may be that it's expecting the call to be diverted from a premium number and is a default greeting ??

    another one that may work - 020 3059 8331

OP, I found 0113 238 7444, that goes straight through to a real person.

    SUCCESS!! Thank you Peachy!
I've just rung this number. They picked up very quickly and put me through general enquiries.
They picked up really quickly as well, and a lovely lady has sorted it out in a minute!! :j She has put the children together, so we can swap over as we like.
    FANTASTIC!!! :D
Now I only need to take enough food and crafts to keep them busy and happy for 3 hours

While initially I was sympathetic. That went out the window when you said you were not willing to call a premium rate number to sort it out.
Sometimes when childrens comfort and safety are concerned, you should just do what you have to do, even if its a little inconvenient, rather than expect everyone else to jump through all the hoops.

I tested it before I posted it, and they were very quick for me too, one ring and they answered. Glad you got it sorted.

Calling a premium rate number could have cost more than paying for allocated seats! No need when you can look up alternatives on http://www.saynoto0870.com

I checked in online with Jet2 a couple of days ago and it did state that if there are children under the age of 4 (possibly 5) in the party, that you shouldn't check in online and to check in at the airport to ensure children are sat with parents. Glad it's sorted but it clearly states that you should check in at the airport with infants.
