Flying with Jet2 and children. Seat allocation

Wow the human race makes me laugh at times. Why do people, particular on this the Travel heading come on here 25 hours out of the day to post unhelpful responses? Get a life.
Surprised at how many miserable sh7ts there are too. The ones that wouldn't move a seat so a child (under 10 at least) can sit next to their parent ... Either my child would sit next to you, I'd make sure she ate her favorite before take off Beans and cauliflower, she'll be trumping the entire flight OR I would sit next to you, and best of luck with that one. I can be rather irritating when I want to be.
Even if I paid extra to sit together (which I probably would never do out of principle that we should be sitting together anyway) I would be one of the first to move (if I was without my children) so a parent can sit with their child. I would never be spiteful or selfish in that circumstance.
OP,Glad you got it sorted, I would have suggested you rang customer service to query whether sitting apart was not a h&s risk. Must have been a computer glitch
I'm surprised at how many (coughs) good parents there are out there, that are not prepared to put their hand in their pocket, to pay so that precious little jimmy or Jayne can be sat next to them, on what should be a enjoyable start to a holiday for a child.
But they are prepared to get on a plane, and cause havock in the aisle and embarrass themselves and their children in the process, because believe me, everyone is looking at you stood in the aisle, holding your childs hand, with the air hostess, expecting somebody to move to accommodate you, and thinking you could have avoided this if you had put your hand in your pocket.
like I said I would not be prepared to move, but I would be more than happy to have your child next to me, I would talk to them, and interact with them.
But I bet these i'm not paying parents would be happy to put their hand in their pockets to buy a expensive warm wine, minature or weak coffee.0 -
Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself. If you are going to be spiteful and selfish, then Karma will get you, and if the Karma comes in the form of someone constantly farting next to you for your journey, then reap what you sew.
People generally are nice polite and giving, you have the odd few that lack common sense, and have little or no care for other people. The odd few being a couple on this thread.
If you really think it is acceptable to allow a 2 or 4 year old to sit away from their a parent, then shame on you.
Oh the irony!0 -

As someone else has already mentioned on this thread, do you not have a problem at all with the airline charging the extra to seat you together. I mean c'mon, you book a holiday including flights for Dom, !!!!!! and Dave. You booked it all together, because your paying for it all together and then the airline seat you away from eachother!
Aside from that clearly it is a H&S risk not to have your child next to you on a flight, surely i dont have to explain that one, so to have to pay extra for something that is a must? Ummm nope!
I'd argue that any child under the age of 12 (cos 13 onwards is teenager right) should be sat next to their parents under H&S.
Would you expect a disabled person with their carer to pay extra to sit next to eachother?
We are also a family of 4, baby, 7 year old and 2 adults. Baby on lap atm, but I would be Gobsmacked if an airline gave us 3 seats all away from eachother, and I would kick up a stink if no one was kid enough to move (although I doubt that). In all the bloody safety instructions they tell you to put your mask on before your child, how can you put theirs on at all if they are seated away from you, and how can I rely on someone like you, who may be kind enough to play with her, to do it?99.9% of my posts include sarcasm!Touch my bum :money:Tesco - £1000 , Carpet - £20, Barclaycard - £50, HSBC - £50 + Car - £1700SAVED =£0Debts - £28500 -

You have a nerve calling people spiteful & selfish when you make comments like you did further up-thread.
Again, if I've paid for a particular seat/s, why should I give that up because someone else hasn't paid? If I've paid £10 or whatever extra, will you give me that so I give up my seat? I highly doubt it.
I do have common sense and my common sense tells me that if I want to sit with my family then I would pay for it. If I saw a fare that was £10 or £20 more but included seat selection then I would pay for it.
And actually, I don't think it's acceptable for a 2 or 4 year old to be seated away from their parent/s, but that's not my responsibility, it's either the parents or the airlines. If you stood in the aisle berating another passenger because they won't move then you show yourself up for what you are and I would hope that you would be removed from the flight.
I honestly don't believe what I read on these threads sometimes.
Oh and just to add, in the context of reaping what you sew - it's not sew, it's sow0 -

Congratulations for being able to afford the luxury of being able to sit next to a person you booked your holiday with

For what I am? What am I then, my couple of posts have clearly given you a full character

Neither do I. For example the very unhelpful responses to questions sometimes. Why do people bother to post in the first place?
Oh and just to add, in the context of reaping what you sew - it's not sew, it's sow
Oh and to add, & is and if you want to nit pick. For the entire content on my post to even comment on an incorrect spelling. Which happens few and far between on posts, is rather SAD!99.9% of my posts include sarcasm!Touch my bum :money:Tesco - £1000 , Carpet - £20, Barclaycard - £50, HSBC - £50 + Car - £1700SAVED =£0Debts - £28500 -

If I'd paid to book my seat and a family turned up and asked me to move for them so they could sit with their kids I'd happily do it. I would ask them for the £10 or whatever it cost for each of the seats I'd paid to book though before I moved.0
