I must admit that that was my first thought. More likely crude software than a deliberate policy by Jet2.

If Jet2 had refused to reallocate the seats after the problem had been pointed out to them, then that would be a different matter.

if I don't like the seat configuration that jet 2 allocates me, I just log out and try again until I get the seats in the configuration I do want. I think this has been mentioned in several threads.

    Yes, I did.

But as the OP hasn't even bothered to pick up the phone to try and resolve this my response was always going to be pretty pointless wasn't it?

The seat allocation software is obviously a bit useless. Get a person to look at it and I suspect all will be resolved within seconds.

Probably in less time than it took to post here in the first place.
    HI,
OP (that is, me) has not picked up the phone because by the time I rang them they were already closed on Sunday. As I work (and I really shouldn't even be on the computer at the moment), I cannot pick up the phone and give them a ring to sort it out. By the time I'm back home in the evening they don't pick up the phone either.
I'm most certainly not using their premium number, and as they have no means of contacting them by email, I need to get through to my local airport's desk. I will do as soon as I have a day off. We are flying in about 3 1/2 weeks, so there is no rush. The plane is not going anywhere.
Not as easy as it seems, you know...

Some of the posters on here who think the Op should pay extra to have a child sit with a parent if they want them next to them, would you be happy sitting next to a 2 year old with no parent to control them?

    I think not!

Before I had children, I always had a child kicking the back on my seat on planes. The feral kids and their obnoxious parents got on my nerves.
Now that I do have children, it annoys me even more. Ok, your children are bored, but at least stop them from kicking the seat in front, there is someone seating there, you know!
I keep my children entertained, and if they are bored at least they don't bother other people.
But if you had a feral child seating next to you, with no parental control, you would probably want to jump off the plane midflight.
And, no, I'm not paying their revolutionary tax! Because I don't feel like it, full stop.

My wife called me that yesterday evening too, at least I think that's what she shouted at me when I ran late on some decorating and left her to tidy up so I could attend an important meeting :)

Just pay and know where you are sittimg

Why on earth should she? children so young have to be seated alongside a parent or guardian!
It was probably a mistake with the seating allocation.
