    Good evening all Spartans! :j

Well I'm on SFD #3, really pleased so far! I didn't go to yoga tonight as I wasn't feeling too fab, but after a bit of sofa time with some big bang theory I felt up to going for a jog, so very pleased about that too. Only a few more days until Race for Life on Sunday, it is going to be a challenge for me!

Otherwise no change, paid another £1 to the CC (as per the PAD thread). :)

One thing though - I'm trying to reduce my overdraft limit, it would appear I can apply for an increase to it online, but to reduce it I have to go and talk to a real person in branch! How peculiar! And rather frustrating as I work out of town Mon-Fri 8am-5/6pm, and my three nearest branches are only open Mon-Fri 9.30am-4.30pm. And not at all on Saturdays. It requires a degree in logistics to get this overdraft reduced it seems! It's interest free as well, so it's not as if they're earning money from my having it...

Just dropping by, very tired, been a busy old Wednesday. MBNA rang me today asking if I wanted to do a balance transfer - or a money transfer to my current account. In true Spartan debt slaying style I told them I dont need to borrow any more money thank you very much.

Oooh, early Happy Birthday, HisMissus - in case I forget!

A few small spends today, but planned ones, all within budget so thats OK.

Mrs T - I used to do all my shopping online. Big bonus is that you have a good idea how much the total is and can take things out of your basket if its too high. For me the downside is that I got into the habit of just buying the same stuff every time without thinking about cheaper options. I gave up and went to Aldi instead which saved me money - although Tesco have just sent me a £12 voucher which I will definitely use.

OK, bedtime. Another busy day tomorrow. Night all!

    Good EVENING SPARTANS!!!

"Here kitty kitty kitty"...What a gorgeous little puddy-tat!!! Thats made my evening! :rotfl:

So SFD number 4 for me this evening. What did I do today.. had a nap that's what. Got home shattered and thought the best option was to have a wee sleep. Then had to catch up on episodes of The Fall cause it was set back home and I like Scully...:)

So clearly a very unproductive yet non-spendy day!

Lotti - they assume you won't bother to go in that's why and just keep the overdraft and eventually go over it which earns them money. Sneaky little banks they are... well done on attempting on getting it reduced though!!

StationarySpender .. what did your colleague say in the end...? Did you share some money-saving tips. We can get second jobs in my place ( I do my overtime with a completely separate building ) and if they ever told me I had to stop I would honestly consider leaving and getting a job somewhere else - how bad is that!

AuntyRuby - your Ma is like mine. She loves anything home made ( I can't post her cake though ) although my cards look like I caught a fairy and smeared the poor creature over some card. Nowt like an overdose of glitter to say Happy Birthday... Daddy's in for a treat on Fathers Day...:rotfl:

So umm KrustyLouise... if your boss a good "friend" then eh? **nudge nudge**.... FREE FOOD!!!!:rotfl:

KarmaChi - what a wonderful brilliant payment to the debt!!! Whoop Whoop!! :T

LAGL where on earth do you live? Tanzania sounds likes in Middle Earth... ARE YOU A HOBBIT???..:rotfl:...seriously though thanks for the sunshine!!

Right then.. I am feeling sleepy again. I swear I am a real cat!

    Night all!

    Onwards and Upwards!!!

    Hi All

spent £24 in SM, had to buy cat food, so I thought I might get the other bits and pieces I intended to buy on Friday, so I'm 4/5 at the mo.

    Love Harley's Picky, so cute,

    Evening.

    Am shattered.

Just watched Game of Thrones and found it very upsetting!!

Any how loan is 1047 and CC is well actually I don't know. I need to log and find out.

It is either 4000 or 4100.

Spending on Sat = had tea out
    No spending Sun, Monday,
Did spend on Tuesday - needed a cherry coke and some chocolate
    No spending today.

    so 3 SFDs.

    going to check CC

Edited to add CC = 4100.

so total current debt is 5147.

by the end of this month I want to pay off 147 and then with June's wages pay off 500 from the loan and 100 from the CC

    xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

I'm all in an upside-down, inside-out, and back-to-front sleep pattern mess. I have been awake since 02:30, after falling asleep whilst trying to watch 'The Apprentice'. Yesterday was my first full day of annual leave, and I became tired about mid-afternoon, but fought it and gave in about 21:10 thinking I would sleep until morning, no such luck.

Yesterday was my fifth spend free day, not difficult as since I am not working I haven't bothered to do my hair and look like 'Side Show Bob' I can't set foot outside looking like this.

I had a moment of weakness yesterday, QVC sent me a £5 voucher off a spend of £30. So I spent some time looking at their website, I know exactly what I want Liz Earle. The thing is the voucher expires on 30 June, and since that is a Sunday my next payday is 28th June. There is no other thing for it I will have to make some extra money in order to use the voucher. I went to the clearance section and put some nail varnish in my basket (as an Xmas pressie for my sister you understand) and a book on how to stay youthful. I then checked the basket to find only the book was there, thankfully this annoyance prompted a moment of clarity and I closed the website, Phew.

Other Debt-slaying antics were finally cancelling Audible, (audible books) Another annoyance is that because I cancelled with 3 credits still on my account I have lost my credits ( so 3 books that I had already paid for) miserly scoundrels!

Today I am going to do Swagbucks, Surveys, and start composing my bank letter (for all the good it will do me, as I am now having doubts about it, but if you don't ask you don't get) Also, I am going to see if I have won anything in a Mento's comp on facebook.

Work has been interesting to say the least. I asked my manager to do something via email which he didn't, in a fit of anger I cancelled 2 overtime shifts I'd picked up ( if he can't help me, then I can't help him!) needless to say I relented by the end of the 12 hour shift and put myself down for them again. It had nothing to do with the fact that we have new-starters coming any week now and there will no longer be any significant overtime.

I also had a run-in with a colleague who decided in her infinite wisdom that she could cope all alone on the mental health floor, all 25 patients on her own! The patients are challenging which is a diplomatic way of saying 'duck, he/she is trying to headbutt you!' She was very rude and aggressive towards me when I went to help her (because we were short-staffed) I think she thought I was going to leave her too it, no chance! For some reason she wanted the glory of saying she had handled the floor herself when the day staff arrived. The woman also has a serious medical condition herself, what does she think would have happened if she had collapsed...the patients would suddenly recover their powers of communication and sanity. Then they would punch in the correct key code to the office, know they need to press 9 for an outside line and then dial 999 and give accurate details so that she could receive emergency medical treatment in the first hour  I hate to name call but what a silly and ungrateful woman. Rant over.

Lottie379 I am with you on the overdraft, they make it the most difficult thing to cancel once you are out of it. I pay ODP on mine whether I use it or not. It is £3.76 as my OD limit is £470. I tried to cancel it years ago when it was only £100. I actually went in to the bank and spoke to a human who agreed to cancel it. I few months later I was scrutinizing my statement and it was still there. A few years later I was allowed to increase it online, which I did, but can I now reduce it online, no I can't, the fiends!

Buffythedebtslayer So jealous of you watching 'Game of Thrones' I don't have Sky. I only watched the first 3 episodes when they did a preview on freeview.

More living on-the-edge. Yesterday I was listening to itunes (I refused to download the latest version of itunes as there are too many updates) on random and refusing to skip (all but deselected Xmas tracks, no-one needs Jive Bunny Ultimate Xmas mix in June) So tracks were Celtic harp, Best of Brass, (stick with me) Tiesto, Kate Bush, Santana and general latin ( as if Santana wasn't enough) Bach, late 90's RnB, Many dance compilation albums, Muse, Ella Fitzgerald, Pink Martini, Wu-tang Clan, Jay-z, various musicals, rock, Madness, The Rat pack, Indie, Carly Simon, Bruno Mars and all other bits of musical nonsense. Even some Yale psychology lectures have crept in (I must finish that course one day).

    I'm still not tired!

    Morning Spartans!

Oooooo I missed my check-in yesterday o_O Oops.

Spend free day number 5 for yesterday- I just worked, hung washing out, chucked out (recycled) 3/4s of my 7 year old Uni work (7 YEARS?!) Where has the time gone!! I've hung onto it all this time believing it would be 'useful one day.' No such luck, the majority of it would be dated and invalid. Just kept my Stats, Research methods and Dissertation in the end. I am terrible for hoarding but am getting slowly better...

    Anyways.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY his missus
money mash Well done on shutting down that QVC page!! Also, having worked several years myself in Health and Social Care with challenging individuals I can understand your frustrations with your colleague!

I am so far behind on Game of Thrones, however I'm keeping up with The Fall. I think there's only one episode left. I followed Broadchurch as well. I like a good ol' psychological thriller! :D

Today will be my first Spendy Day after my run of 5 SFDs. I finally have to cave in and buy food and fuel up the little rust bucket!

Have a delightfully sunny day you fine folk!
