Put it in the freezer as said already, or make dumplings and put them uncooked in the freezer.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

The only time I have used suet is when on a weight watchers diet and there was a recipe for stew with dumplings. I don't have the recipe anymore, but I remember it being very good.
I would say that it depends on your priority. If it's losing weight, then feed the birds - now or in the winter. If it's saving money, that spotted !!!!!! recipe looks delicious. Also Jam Roly Poly and proper Steak and kidney pudding.0 -
ive merged this with an older thread on using up suet
ZipA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

I see Atora suet for sale in every supermarket I visit, but I have never bought or used it, nor know anyone who does. The fact that everywhere sells it means lots of people must buy it, but what are they using it for? I know traditionally its used to make dumplings, but how many people still make those regularly?
Do you buy it? What are you using it for!0 -
I used to buy the vegetable one before I found out I had to stop eating wheat (it uses this as a bulking agent). I used it for dumplings and in mince pie filling.October Grocery Challenge: £20.65/£150

I use it for dumplings in stews though I tend to buy the vegetable one as it's fewer calories. In the days when I made home made mincemeat I also used it for that.0
