I am in a similar position to you as my O2 contract finishes this month
after which i will be paying more
is there any special reason why you do not want to go with sky?
i have been offered a deal which i posted earlier in the thread but have still to decide where to go
arthur
2 reasons, first and foremost I dislike the company, secondly BT Fibre rollout is very close to being available in my area0 -
has anyone left o2 recently who has not been moved to Sky yet?
I'm not sure if I am still entitled to leave due to o2 breaking the contract by selling it to Sky. I just hope I haven't inadvertently started a new contract with Sky.
They're not breaking the contract by selling to Sky. They can sell their contracts on to whoever they choose to, like any other business.
What's important is that Sky honour the original terms. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Fibre rollout? But you can then get FTTC via Sky-it's the same service as Infinity (but cheaper). No free lunch, and no free laptop0

My O2 broadband ((allrounder at £6.25 / month) ends in November, and I have a package with Sky at £33.75/month. Rang Sky who offered me the following
£119 upfront for 1 year line rental
free 12 month broadband (normally £7.50)
Reduction of Sky package from £33.75 to £22.25
Any ideas if this is a good deal? Arranged for the guy to ring back as he said other advisers did not have access to some of the discounts he had!0 -

I would say its a great deal as you will be saving just under £18 a month0 -

It sounds a good deal if they are reducing your Sky TV package as well. I'm assuming that's what the £33.75 is for?
Why did they offer a discount on the TV package? Did you threaten to leave completely?0 -
I rang O2 to ask about the migration process to Sky and was eventually transferred to the Sky team. I didn't really haggle, the guy just came up with these options. Yes, the £33.75 is for the Sky TV package.
I'm a bit worried though as somebody here mentioned that if you decide to move your phone line from Sky then you lose your number. Is this true?0 -
Like many others, I've kept my number and have free broadband and tv for 12months. Line rental £119.40 with £5 a month for Anytime calls.0

Akaal asked about losing his/her number whilst moving FROM Sky not TO.
The answer to the question is that there should be no problem is using a return to donor but like anything I suppose it's not guaranteed.0
