Oh dear Miss I that sounds like one hell of a date, for all the wrong reasons. Keep battling through the frog minefield, your prince will be out there somewhere, even if he isn't on the horizon just yet.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

Sorry to hear it didn't go well Miss I. :(

BUT at least you know now that nothing will happen with K. Sometimes thats how dates go. You build it up but then in reality they are the opposite of what you expect.

*hugs* this dating lark is a bloody minefield hun, but i hope that things will work out for you.

    Thanks both of you.

I have to be perfectly honest and, the way I'm feeling right now, being single feels good to me for the first time in a long time. I'm feeling pretty turned off right now :(. I know that I have had pretty rotten luck with men and I'm sure they aren't all bad but for now, I'm just going to be as happy with my freedom as I can. I don't think I can face another bad kiss lol. I'm forgetting what was ever good about it .

If I meet someone very special then I'd reconsider but I'm quite happy being on my own for now. I can look after myself, I have a full life, I can't complain just because I haven't found "the one".

What a self-obsessed idiot. At least you had the presence of mind to invent another engagement so that you didn't waste the whole evening on him!

I'm glad that you would rather be single than with someone like him. Too many people are the opposite, unfortunately for them.

Have a glass of wine and a nice evening to yourself, then call a few friends and tell them about your date, I guarantee that you'll all be howling with laughter!

Uh oh... he has text asking how things went. What should I do? I don't know what to say, I don't want to be mean but don't want to see him again!

Don't feel that you have to text back tonight, if indeed you want to reply at all. Sleep on it.

I am also amazed that he didn't pick up on your lack of enthusiasm!

    'How what went?'

    'The date'

'Oh, it was a date was it? Only you were dressed for cleaning out hamsters so I guess I wasn't worth even making an effort for. Have a nice life. Insert smiley face here.'

  • I don't want to be a cow though. As much as he was a horrible date and I don't want to see him again, I don't want to knock his confidence either.

I'd really rather not text him back but is that horrible? After all, I'm the one who told S to give him my number.

    If I text I'd say,

"Thanks for the meal. It was good to meet up with you again but I didn't really feel a connection. Hope you understand."

    What do you think?

What's worse... the text or ignoring him?

He didn't seem worried about knocking your confidence by not even dressing in smart clothes or talking to you about anything other than himself. Doesn't sound to me like he has confidence issues.

i don't think that a silence is going to work with this guy, he sounds too thick skinned for that. He might keep texting you until he gets a response.

I wouldn't text back tonight either otherwise you might be kept awake half the night thinking about it and getting cross (I would anyway)

I would do the thanks but no thanks text tomorrow.
Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j
