  • Morning all,

Check me out, up before 7am with only the most very minor of hangovers, and a day off work! Had a lovely night out with my friend last night, and spent less than I thought when we were out because we'd had a couple of drinks before we went.
Hairdressers was the same £30 as usual for me and my son.
Tried a new trick during the grocery shop of giving my daughter a calculator and getting her to add up on the way around. My son had the shopping list and overall the whole experience was far less traumatic than usual. Spent £59, which was more than I was hoping, but I needed loads of stuff like kitchen roll, toilet cleaner etc. I also asked hubby to work out how much he'd spent on little trips to the shops during the week, and he was horrified when he worked it out to be almost £150 a month. Hopefully that will teach him a little and he'll think before he goes next time.
Interesting to read the above article Kat. Amazing the differences in both price and quality of food.
Onwards and upwards. Hope everyone has a nice bank holiday today. I have no idea what I'll be doing but hopefully it won't cost much (if anything).

Morning all - another early riser - what is it with bank holidays. When you can lie in you are up with the lark. Tomorrow you will have to lever me out of my pit.

Anyway today will be a SFD. I ahve no intention of leaving the house - apart from a lovely doggie walk later on. By the end of today I want to scrub the kitchen floor tiles, plant up some pots, attack the weeds in the garden, finish that piece of sewing that has been lurking for a while and do some school work. All fairly boring but deeply satisfying at the same time

Very interesting read, I read something similar whilst doing a course on culture through the OU - amazing how wasteful and unhealthy some can be ie the family who but takeout all the time!

Kat, my bank don't charge when I go over by a little bit - they used to but I think since there has been loads of claiming back they stopped? Strange but true. I don't knowingly risk it though as you never know...

Right, today I am determined - music on and will get my home in order! When it's cluttered I am so demotivated its ridiculous! Then on with sewing - have loads of fabric for a couple of skirts, some summer trousers and shorts for dd2 - then some skirts and dresses for me and a summer dress that needs finishing for dd1! Obviously won't get it all done today but if I dig out the sewing room it's a start!!

  • morning all, a very quiet weekend here but it's much needed after a very crazy couple of weeks.

2 more NSDs to add (Saturday and yesterday) taking me to 4 now.

Today won't be, I desperately need a pair of shoes and am in town anyway so will get them today.

The good news is I had a £10 gift card in the post this week for the shop where I'm going to get them from, so makes them a bargain :money:

no further food spends, don't really need anything for another few days so I'm pleased about that too.

And I lost 1lb last week - not much but I've not got much to lose at all so it's a real fight to get the last ones off!

hope everyone is well and enjoying the bank holiday (unless you're working in which case forgive me!) X

    Morning Chickadees!!!

I was up at 0800... do I get a gold star?:p.. I was aiming for 0700 but when the time came I thought better of it. My rollers were giving me grief all night - don't know why I bothered considering I am off to the gym shortly..

Hoping this will be SFD number 5-in-a-row and I will be well chuffed with myself. I can see most of you have the idea of staying in and doing nowt but cleaning.. I have so many boxes under my bed and there is a bit of a mad dash in the morning if there is something I am looking for so I know I need to do a bit of re-arranging today... vaccuuming / dishes / washing all done last night. And I managed to dye my grey bits. Get me all organised.

I have 4 hours overtime today at 1900 - 2300. It equates to 8 hours as it's double time but I think I have missed EVERY other OT shift I have applied for this month!!! I am sh**ting myself sorry.. I am incredible anxious and very worried that I won't hit my target if I can't get the overtime. It's making me very anxious and unsettled! I am not a happy kitty and realise it has had be very worried all weekend! I shall be checking the availability tonight again but have asked for shifts up until the first weekend in June so there isn't much else I can do about it but cross my fingers and wish upon a star...

I calculate my outgoings each month on my basic wage so there is nothing that NEEDS the overtime money I just WANT it!:T

Anyway.. I am off to the gym to try my entire program which will be tough. Home then to sort my room and maybe have a little snooze later...

Keep it going ladies and gents.. get those scrubbing gloves out.. keep the purse/wallet tucked away and make it a bank holiday SFD ...(or at least a very low spend)....:T
