Right... I need to do a food shop tomorrow. I have a list of what I want and coupled with money I didn't spend last week I have a total of £31.11. That £1 is being used as my "gym pound" for the locker so I can't spend it so I have £30.11 to use.... Tesco have been used as a guied and the items I want come to £28.97... BUT am I going to spend it all there?? No I am not!!!:T:T

Here comes the fun bit where one does not have a car... so I shall be getting off one stop eary tomorrow for Asda and have precisely 30 minutes to get there, buy my bits and get out for the next train.

I shall then travel one stop beyond mine for Lidl's and hit them with a big stick....

Tesco shall be visited on route back to the train station with a stop at Morrisons later in the evening for cheap bread...

    Phew!

    Talk about loony bin behaviour...

Onwards and Upwards!!.....(I am going home now)..

Wow!!! That is dedication NSK! When really on form I do 3 but they are all within 5 mins walking distance from my house! Well done you :)

Lovely sunny day here by the seaside so although could have been a sfd I spent on snacks - but instead of stopping for drinks we came home to a chilled bottle of wine so cheaper than could have been.

Now, confession time... I have agreed to a holiday for this time next year costing £1000 plus spends with my sister and other family members. I realize this may seem madness but really need something to look forward to and determined to pay debts and pay cash for holiday. Don't fancy single mom alone with two kids so this will be perfect! I have worked out I need to save £120 a month to pay it by the time it has to be paid off and then the last few months before will give me time for spending money...I know its naughty but I am so excited!

Will work on budgets tomorrow - I know some might think its madness given I have debt and messed up with TV licence this month but I will make this work and it will give me the motivation too!

    Night all

OK, so I'm a week late with my first update - oops! Have been busy earning money and sleeping though so I hope that excuses me :)

Budgets all going well so far. I've downsized my misc budget by £15 this month as a trial. So far it's gone untouched so hopefully I can make it last, I have a few birthday cards and bits and bobs to buy this month but I don't have any nights out planned. I think last month's night out with my fighting friends made me re-evaluate the value of nights out. I'll maybe have a small meal out with one of them at the end of the month if the budget's still healthy.

So far the budgets stand at....
    Food: £11.59/£80
    Petrol: £20/£50
    Misc: £0/£85
    SFD: 5/21

    Morning everybody,
Managed 2 more sfd over the weekend saturday and monday but did spend on the Sunday, couple of tops for work which were needed but not budgeted for, really shouldn't be allowed to go near shops, my will power is terrible.
But I still have £40 of my £100 budget for the month left altho that will go today on dog food and petrol so next few weeks will be interesting, but I have a full freezer and cupboards so we won't starve.
Am trying an experiment to see if can get rid of tv licence, my freeview box died at the weekend and I was going to get another one then thought better of it as would have had to use cc, has anybody else gone tv less? only things that used to be watched 'live' was kids tv altho most of time was just background noise everything I watched was always recorded, which I can now do on demand etc and I have lovefilm subscription if I want to watch series or films, so is it easy to do?

Kaze you should be our guinea pig! I was going to do it at this new house but the LL's daughter left her TV.. With freeview and the massive TV in the living room has SKY but am trying to reduce my time infront of it and frankly have been to busy! The spare time I did have on Sunday night I ended up watching a little of The Valleys and am thus far scarred for life so I probably should give it up... Lol!!!

I've not had a TV for the last 2 years - I honestly don't miss it (although I must admit each winter when Strictly returns I secretly wish I had one :D)

Kaze, I didn't have a tv for around four years then was given one and my daughter was over the moon so had one since. It was a little strange at first just because I was used to wasting time and without it background it was quiet. Then I bought a sewing machine and got into radio 4. I did used to let my daughter watch the odd cartoon through the pc but on the whole she didn't mind. We played board games or read on the sofa in the evenings and radio4 used to have a kids hour on a Sunday. I quite regret getting a tv and once this breaks probably won't have one.
My neighbour thought I was very odd though once he found out and proceeded to tell other neighbours in a 'did you know...' Kind of way - lol!!!

Check the guidelines for tv licence because I heard if you had any equipment that could stream live (not just a tv) then you need a licence - might be wrong though.
