What if there was no baby changing table, and it was safer to do it on the seat?

All aircraft have changing tables over at least one of the toilets.

I read this thread with interest and was surprised that people seemed to think babies inevitably cried on planes and people with children should not fly. Which seems crazy.

That said surely it is the job of the parent to keep their child quiet and not disturb people arround them where ever they may be.

I have flown many times and have heard babies for a few minutes at various times but never for the whole 9 hours. And I have flown many many times with babies seat near me ( within 6 rows)

Most parents seem to have methods of quitening their child down be it a walk arround the plane, a bottle or calpol of something soothing.

Surely if the baby cries for hours and the parent ignores the child bawling its eyes out for hours on end ( one example on this thread was a parennt ignoring thier child and going to sleep )rather then complain about the noise, consider calling social services as soon as you land and reporting the neglect you witnessed.

The parent may be struggling and may benefit from some midwife support and or support from social services.

Are you actually !!!!!!? Not seen a thread bring out so many absolute cretins in such a long time.

Punching babies in the face, saying they shouldn't take the child on flights in a family move / to see an ill relative etc, get real.

As for the OP, if your OH gave me dirty looks for my child crying id make sure I called on her excellent parenting skills to task in front of the plane, and ask her to calm my daughter down.

Please don't have kids, you obviously don't have a ****ing clue.

It's not the babies it's the stupid parents 99.9% of the time. When a dummy fails to work there appears to be no plan B.

Don't think anyone is blaming the babies.

Just the stupid (selfish) parents subjecting an 18 month old to a 9 hour flight so they can go to Cuba for a fortnight.

I've actually given up posting (apart from this one obviously!) on this thread, if the OP can't even be bothered hanging around, then I can't be bothered with it anymore either, its just descended into a thread of chaos now! I've said my piece, so I'll just leave it at that.

The OP is probably watching it all unfold now, and is laughing his b*****ks off!

I think there's a difference between babies/young children with irresponsible parents and babies/young children with responsible parents.

A child crying while their parents got absolutely sloshed, or who let them run around the plane like a wildling, or who absolutely couldn't be tossed, that is incredibly annoying.

A child crying whose parent is trying to soothe them and is really trying their best in the circumstances is someone who I feel the utmost sympathy for, especially when people around them are tutting and rolling their eyes!
