Mother lives with the father in the United States as he works there. Baby is born. When the kid is one the father gets a job back in the UK. Do they just leave the child in the USA until it reaches a "plane ready" age?

You haven't answered as to why they have to.

Because as others have already said, babies are part of a family and some families like to go on holiday. They can't just be farmed out like cats and dogs. Adults generally can control their actions, have a wash, wear clean socks and shoes that don't stink, etc, babies cry for a reason, they don't do it to annoy other passengers you know.

Yes I agree, but parents can control these actions. By not taking them on planes!

I have no problem, and agree, kids love holidays. Do they need to go on an 8 hour flight to have this holiday? No.

Do you have to take your kids to see family across the ocean? No, they can come to you (pretty much the majority of the time, I understand sometimes there are things beyond your control whether you can fly or not).

Well apologise and I won't be. But making sarcastic comments at me for something I never said is insulting.

If 10 isn't your suggested age then why bring it up? I see no reason to muddy the waters by throwing in ages that you now claim are irrelevant...

    With the mother....

And at no point have I said during this thread that I think children and babies should be banned from flights. But it seems that a lot of "parents" think that other passengers should just deal with the fact their kid is crying loudly during the whole flight, how on earth is this fair to other passengers?

Because its common courtesy and polite.

I assume you don't mind people being loud, playing loud music etc. on public transport then?

Who says it is common courtesy not to allow children to fly - you? Do you own the airline, or are you just some self appointed authority on what constitutes good manners?

I expect people to act as well as they know how to. Young children will cry on planes, I have no issue with that, they are in an unfamiliar environment. The comparison with an adult is irrelevant - they (should) know better.

Then you are an idiot and you should perhaps re-read the post where I said that was just when I had my first flight.

Then perhaps re-read the post where I then repeated this.

    Idiot.

You have no idea how ridiculous you sound.

Who being a British citizen will not be able to stay in the country without her husbands work visa.....

Even if she could you now appear to be advocating the separation of a family for several years just to avoid annoying someone like you on an 8 hour flight!

    LOL how so?

I have had to repeat myself so many times to you, and to meer and to notanewuser about what I have said because you seem to think I have said something that I haven't!

Well, unless they've packed a parachute they've not got a huge amount of choice, have they?!
