Hi Jo,
I am fearing exactly the same - spoke to Neil, who upped my claim to almost 100% and said he would pay in the balance should the partial offer already have been transferred. Partial offer went in next day but still no sight of the difference. Ok, mine was only 4 days ago, but I also still have not received the letter confirming 100% which he was suppesed to sent out the same day, slightly worried now.... will you keep me posted how you are getting on as it's still a bit early for me to do something about it I suppose?
Thanks & good luck!
Hi Newmoney,
I just had a call back from the lovely Benand he said he emailed payments and they replied back saying they had a backlog of claims to pay in and they are currently dealing with the requests they were given on 3rd July, mine apparently went in on 4th July so he said hopefully it should be in today or worst case scenario Monday. Checked my account 5 minutes later and it's in there woo hoooo!!!
Good luck to you all, keep on their cases!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
HI everyone
After following these posts and receiving an offer of 51% of what I was claiming I phoned the 01977 number on the letter and spoke to Steve and negotiated to £300 less of the full amount - £2300 to be exact. This was on Monday and I received my letter on Tuesday. Does anybody know how long it takes for the money to go into the account? Im too impatient lol
Thanks0 -

just come off the phone to Halifax again - I am starting to get stressed with them now, the story goes that I wrong in with my 2nd demand before court letter on the 18/06. the bank recieved it on the 19/06 and I have a signed slip from the royal mail showing this. I actually recieved an email from the CEO of Halifax telling me that my letter was indeed recieved by them on the 19/06 and was awaiting action. I have been chasing recently as the 14 days is up and I want to get this solved. I have had a variet of different stories here, ranging from "we will call you back tomorrow" "its being re-re-reassessed" to the latest one just now - "the letter was never logged as being recieved and we are starting the 8 weeks investigation from the date that you called in 2/07" when i questioned how this can be when I recieve confirmation from the Halifax Executive offier, that this has been recieved. The person got very uptight and said that would not comment - they did advise me that if I was to take it to court I would win as Halifax cannot defend again mis given information from there Executives and it would look bad on them. This is where I am .... what can I do now?

Hi,
I phoned and asked for a re-evaluation on the 4/6/07 4 weeks ago.
I have phoned twice since to ask when i would hear from them.
The last time i phoned on the 0845 no, i was told by a very unhelpful girl that my case would be dealt with and that i would hear back from them "some time in the future" lol!!
The person i dealt with had very very little to say and anything i asked was replied with i'm not sure, i dont deal with this.!!???!?!?!?!
I'm pretty p...ed off with this now, but hey, i'll keep going on!!
Has anyone got any suggestions??
Has anyone else been waiting this long just to get a 50% offer????
I do understand that they could take upto 8 weeks, but reading on here, a lot of people are receiving an offer after a few weeks
Cheers

Hi Rik! I was the same, always phoning 0845 and getting nowhere! phone one of the 01977 nos (get it from the threads) + see how you go. I phoned it last monday + was told it was taking 3-4 wks from re evaluation, pointed out I had waited 5 weeks, the nice chap called Paul said he would get onto it, + he did, I had my 50% offer out the next day. So give that a go on Monday!0

How long did you wait on the deposit from your offer was settled?
My 50% offer made on 3rd, upped to 100% on 4th but still no new letter or any money?0 -
Hi,
Thanks for the reply! I'll call the 01977 no's and try and chase them up as it will be 5 weeks tomorrow with no offer yet.

Here is some interesting inside info I got from a good friend about what goes on at the Halifax.
They have several centres dotted round, like in Liverpool, Chester, Bristol, Leeds, Newcastle. They employ a lot of contractors. They don't seem to get a whole load of training. They have targets to hit each day. There is a lot of pressure. Some people have to work long hours to get their targets in. There are a number of different i.t. systems/platforms being used (5?) which makes the job harder. The computer allocates claims on a random basis. Once your case is allocated, that person keeps it. So there is an element of pot luck there. The targets are partially driven by the need to get claims actioned within the regulators timescales.
This may help paint a picture and help us see why it all takes so long.
To help ourselves, we need to:
-Write good letters as per MSE templates and adhere to procedures.
-Use this forum as a knowledge base. Use the search function - this forum and site is a mine of info. So is the Consumer Action Group. Share experiences, especially good practice.
-Don't be bullied or bluffed. It's a poker game now. Bluff / counter-bluff.
-Keep pushing and be persistent until you reach a point where you are happy with your offer.
There is no quick route. They are now inundated with claims. Writing letters, phone calls.... using the court route, or via the ombudsman... it all takes time. But if we get our bit right, be patient but persistent and keep our nerve... we give ourselves the best possible chance of getting a good settlement.
For so many of us the money involved can make a big difference especially when things are tight. I believe that MSE has helped many people get their finances back on track and effectively change their lives for the better. Me included!Halifax WON!
