We claimed over £500 of bank charges earlier this year and whilst it was in the process we acrewed another £300 bank charges whilst my partner was sick, so we repeated the process but they refused it and said we had already claimed and signed a waiver to close the matter (we had signed but thought that that was for the previous claim) is there any way we can sort this out?
this is halifax OF COURSE!0 -

Do make sure that you confirm with the bank in writing that you are accepting their offer in part payment and without prejudice and will be proceeding with a further claim at a later stage.
Hi All , I have just rung Northampton Court and since i filed my claim with MCOL deemed served on 25 - 07 - 07 the Halifax have acknowledged my claim and have 28 days to respond. The court officer has stated that the courts have NOT put my claim on hold until after the test case so its onward and upwards.Keep up the good fight folks !0 -
Is it true that some courts are still going ahead with claims despite the banks putting everything on hold? Also i have sent letter 2 to Lloyd's requesting the £3949.50 they owe me on the 26th july 2007 ive yet to receive a reply what i was wondering is does anybody know if i can add interest on at the next stage if they refuse to pay me? I've just calculated it to be a further £654.39 using martins calculator , thanks!!0

I have just phoned Halifax after receiving the letter declining my request for a refund on bank charges, and was told by a lady that from Friday 27 July 2007 no further cases are being re-evaluated until after the test case, which could take over 12 months! does this mean i have to wait until after the test case before I can proceed any further to recover my bank charges?0

I would have expected that Halifax would stop re-evaluating cases meantime which is a shame as it was a fairly easy way to see your claim to a satisfactory conclusion.
What you now have to do is start a court action via either your local court or MCOL. It is the banks that are saying all cases are on hold, not the courts.

Hi All
I have money paid into my A & L account via BACS on the 12th of each month. However as it is BACS it takes 2 working days to go through. As the 12th was on a Friday this month the money did not clear until yesterday (16th). A direct debit came out of my account on 15th and I was charged £25.00 a couple of hours later!?! On my online banking statement it actually shows the £25.00 charge was debited prior to the direct debit of £28.50 which took me over my overdraft.
Reading the T&C I think it says they don't have to notify me of charges (which I think is ridiculous) but surely they shouldn't show on my statement before the debit that has taken me over my overdraft???
Sorry, I hope I am posting this in the right place. Am pretty new to all this.0
