YES!!!!!! After receiving a letter on Saturday with an offer of 50%, I phoned the LOVELY Graham to negotiate a higher figure. He asked me how much I would be willing to settle for and I replied that the full amount would sort me out very nicely...and also those who I owe money to. So a few jokes and laughs later....no haggling...he agreed. This will make me nearly £3000 better off, no minus signs on my statements and no red figures. It's been quite a while that I last saw black!!!!!! For any of you thinking of giving up or have lost hope and the will to carry on....DON'T.....You will get there in the end! A HUGE than you to Martin and this site.....and to the lovely Graham!!!

• I have just called Halifax and finally got through to the standard number printed on the rejection letter (08451241330) as the 01977 number is never answered (anyone had any luch with this number)

I was advised that my claim was going to be sent now for re-re-reassement (no misprint, thats what she said) when I asked what had happenned the last time it was apprently reassessed she said nothing, there was no notes on the screen.

I will apprently recieve a responce by the 17th August... this is mental, today is the 14th day or the final demand letter and I want to know what I can do. Is there another number with some other people that can help me rather that the 0845 number or another 01977 number that works.

Thanks

P.S I am trying to reclaim £3323.22

Bank owed me 954, apparently My account closed with me owing them £271 in charges so instead of me paying these charges they will deduct from 954. Therefore they owe me £683.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

They have agreed 683 payout, if I wanted to go to court for interest I can!

So I took it gladly, because the court fee would have been £80.00 and besides my full claim was 683.00 so it wasnt worth the stress for a little bit of interest.

Good luck to you all, keep on pushing, it will come good in the end.

Hey everyone,

I have successfully claimed back on my current account but I know I probably have one or two charges on my Credit Card and Student Account as well from years back. Do you think it is worth my while to claim back on these or is it not a good idea because they are from the Bank of Scotland too?

Thank you
Caz

I have written to halifax asking them to repay me the £39 they took off me for an unpaid direct debit.
I'm on benefits and only receive £75 a week, so they took more than half of my weekly money from me, which has put me behind with almost all of my bills.
The last letter i sent was a 'reply within 14 days or i'll take you to court' ( after receiving a 'sorry, but no' ) letter from them first.
Its been over 14 days now, and although its not a lot of money, it would make a big difference if i could get it back. Should i bother taking it any further? I have seen that the fee for small claims court can be waived if you're on benefits, but couldnt find anything on the mcol site about it.
Please help!

Thanks
Julie
