Can any one tell me if i can claim back lost bank charges from an account that has been closed for 3 years.
The bank put so many charges on me over a period of 18 months which caused me to go into a voluntary bankruptcy. If i was to know i could have done this back then i would not have needed to enter into a voluntary bankruptcy. can any one help. :mad:0 -
Ring this number 01977627313, and speak to Graham. Really helpful nice bloke and gave me all my charges £1700 back on Friday.
(fingers crossed it gets into bank account soon):money:0 -
Hi all,
quick overview - statements requested and recieved in May. Initial letters sent out mid May - rejected. 2nd letters sent out 28th May offering lower settlements figures when I did not recieve a reply I rang the 08457 25 35 19 number and asked for them to be reviewed. I have received an offer letter for approximately half of the claim. This is where it all starts to get a bit confusing for me. Yesterday I rang the number on the top of the halifax offer letter and asked to speak top the author of the letter and they would not put me through, I rejected the offer and the halifax offered to review their offer and that somone would call me back.
Today I rang the halifax over another account and they said their offer on the 1st account was being processed. I explained I had rejected it and the representative suggested I speak to the local number again, which I did. Again they would not put me through to the author of the offer letter. All they would offer to do was mark my review as urgent but that it could take up to a week for someone to call me back.
Confused I rang the main office again. The representative stated it was standard proceedure to process the offer and then look at "upping" it and then pay any increase but would not discuss the matter.
Does anyone have any suggestions it would appear from the posts that some of you are managing to speak to claims reviewers and managing to up the offer, however anyone I speak to is reluctant to discuss my claim and merely states I must wait for an advisor to call me.
Thanks in advance0 -
Badger35 there should be a number on the top of the offer letter to call the person in question direct. In my case the number was incorrect so I called the 01977 number and they messaged my particular officer and he called me back within 1 hr.
Dinkydudette"I've just recieved my fob off letter...which I was expecting, now where do I go from here?
should I ring and ask for it to be re-evaluated? and if so...which number? should I ring the number at the topof the letter?"
there should be a number on the top of your fob off letter call that and they will re-evaluate.
hope that helps.Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."

hi all,
i am at the stage where i have submitted a claim with mcol 4 weeks ago, i have just checked today and the status has changed from "acknowledged" to "defence", i am now panicking as i don't have a solicitor (do i need one?)and if i represent myself in court, what information do i need to win the case?
also, as many people are recieving settlements and full refunds before this stage, could they win simply on a small issue like accidentally asking for 1% more interest in error on 1 charge. i.e have i done something wrong??
Please help!!!???0 -

now my question to you all is...
In my next letter to them, can I update the interest on the charges and add charges that they've stuck on since? as it will be along way away...
I wrote them the court action letter saying that if It went to court I would add interest etc. gave them fourteen days to respond. After the fourteen days I called them on the 01977 number and was really friendly- told me I would have a response by the following fri if not ring back- no response so phoned told to give them till wed then call back so on day 20 following my fourteen day letter I had an offer- phoned negotiated job done 4 weeks in all.Duct tape is like the force. Hey,
I am still waiting on my re-evaluation claim letter, the FO are also dealing with my claim. So I have been phoning the bank every week, very polite everytime 'cos it really is not the advisors fault. Today the guy said it can take anything from 3-4 days till 4 weeks so just be patient and I will get an offer letter through the post. I had originally been told that I had to deal directly with the FO as they were now dealing with it so it was nice to hear that the bank are actually still dealing with it too. It has been 3 weeks since I asked for my re-evaluation, I get so excited about seeing the post everyday!!

Sent claim letter 27/04/07 - received 30/04/07
Rejection letter 03/05/07
Sent court threat letter giving 14 days 11/05/07 - received 14/05/07
Phoned 01/06/07; 04/06/07 and told will have to wait 8 weeks from original letter ie 21/06/07
Rang 01977 number 18/06/07 and told to expect something in next couple of days.
20/06/07 Just checked my halifax account there (not using it anymore) and there was £181.00 deposited in it!
My claim was for 362.00 + interest so they have paid out half.
Will be calling them for the full amount.
I know the interest is small but should i push for it too?
I guess its the principle of the situation rather than the amount.
What do you guys think?0
