Carry on with the process sending everything by recorded delivery to your branch not their head office as this is in Scotland. Don't bother contacting them by phone. Be prepared for a long slog. I started my process in October last year and am now awaiting a court date and my claim is only £505.00
  • Thanks for the reply. Did you ever get a response to your second letter? I've been going since January - looks like a long way to go - bang goes the summer holiday!!

By second letter do you mean letter before action to which they have not replied?

Has anyone been lucky to claim back interest. Im currently claiming for my parents as the have 2 accounts one with 3415ish inc interest and one for 5200 exc interest(havent totted it up yet). I am about to post off the letter and wondering whether when we get a reply its worth ahnging on for the interest. Halifax were quite simple and I got paid immediatly without going to court but it looks like YB are being awkward.

  • Hi have tried to claim my bank charges back from YB. I sent the first letter giving them 40 days to provide the information, but now i have received a letter from them saying:-
The end of the time period has almost been reached, however, due to the high volume of requests we have received in relation to this high profile issue, i regret that we are not yet able to provide you with the information requested. Whilst you are within your rights to refer the matter to the information commissioner at the end ot the 40 day period, i confirm that we shall provide you with the information as soon as we possibly can.

so what do i do now?

Have had to take mine to court, my claim was issued on 2nd May and Yorkshire Bank have 14 days to respond. They have sent me a letter stating that there position is still the same and that they will defend my claim. I will keep you all informed!!!
