Please can anyone help.
I sent my broken down claim to Yorkshire Bank and said 14 days reply etc. They have just responded on time saying:
Thanks for your recent letter blah.
As you will appreciate I need to make investigations into the points you have raised. In th meantime I thnk you for your patience in this matter ande I will contact you as soon as my investigations are complete.
So do I give them say an extra week (that could look good in court, or do I
just go and start proceedings, what do you think????? Any advice please????
Thanks0 -

Yes you have won. Congratulations
You and the bank will receive a copy of judgement from the court and from then you can expect to receive your money. If you dont hear from the bank within a reasonable time then get on to them to pay up.0 -
Hello to you all ......
I have been waiting for Yorkshire bank to send me my statements, I first received a letter from them to acknowledge that they received my payment of £10 and that they would respond in 40 days...
38 days later I receive a letter from them that reads
"Due to the high volume of requests that we have received in relation to this high profile issue, I regret that we are not yet able to provide you with the information that you requested"
"I confirm that we shall provide you with the information as soon as we possibly can" .......
Are they allowed to delay this past 40 days?, surely 40 days is enough to send me my statements. I worry more because I have been told that as from next month we will not be able to clame on any charges under £12 ... Is this true?.
Yorkshire Bank seem to like charging me £8 per day so I do have concernes.
If my bank are not allowed to take anymore then 40 days, what should I do, I should mention that I spoke to them on the phone about it and they told me that it is legal as long as the inform me.
What if I tell them that I am not happy and I want a refund.. I have loads of old statments, I am only missing 5 from that past 6 years. I have become impatient and have already sealed a stage 3 letter ready for posting in the morning.
Thaks for your help

Actually that is most probably correct. Are they allowed to delay this past 40 days?, surely 40 days is enough to send me my statements.
Technically they can't, but that ruling didn't take into account the current situation where the world and his wife are claiming back charges and asking for their statements to do it.
You could write to the Information Commissioner and complain but apart from the pleasure of added a bit tot he banks troubles it isn't likely to get you your statements any quicker as the IC is snowed under too!I worry more because I have been told that as from next month we will not be able to clame on any charges under £12 ... No it isn't. It's total BS.Yorkshire Bank seem to like charging me £8 per day so I do have concernes.

No it isn't legal, but as I said earlier they probably are, for once, telling the truth about the delay. What if I tell them that I am not happy and I want a refund.. I have loads of old statments, I am only missing 5 from that past 6 years. I have become impatient and have already sealed a stage 3 letter ready for posting in the morning.
Do not estimate any figures. It can lead to problems down the road.
Be patient, this is not going to be a quick job. You are probably going to have to wait for months before your case is resolved.Thaks for your help

I have received a letter from a solicitor on behalf of Yorkshire Bank offering mr a "goodwill gesture" payment of £200 (original claim for £1100)I have 10 days to respond is this a normal action or should I reject and hold out for more. I am concerned having read the thread re Cldesdale bank which is the same company any advice??0

Only you can answer that one.
Although the Clydsdale are more aggressive than most the odds are still in your favour of winning, though of course that isn't guaranteed.
Ultimately only you can decide though.Hamsters have no tact and diplomacy, nor do they want any.0 -
Hi can anyone help. I have sent my first letter to YB and received a reply saying that due to the large amount of claims they have to go over the 40 days. Is there a letter which i could send to them saying that i have given them more than enough time and would like my bank statements
Not sure how to word it. I have looked at Martins letters and the second letter is claiming the charges amount

Have a look at the thread "40 days and nothing" and you'll find a link to a letter in that thread, sorry this is a common problem with Yorkshire/Clydesdale and you just have to keep pushing them.
Links to threads are in the Reclaim Help Thread which is linked in my signature.0
