We are in the process of claiming £3200 from Yorkshire bank. We are upto the stage of threatening to take them to court. We havnt heard from them for 3 weeks until we received a letter from their solicitors offering £200 as full and final settlement. has anyone received such a pitifull offer from the Yorkshire bank. I suspect that they think people are getting cold feet because of the Berwick case, and that people would take anything to settle.

  • Hello all,

I am about to send my first Data Subject Access request letter to Yorkshire Bank but I am a bit confused about the address even for this first letter so I wonder if you can help and profuse apologies if this question has been asked before. I have read the threads but couldn't find this exact query so I hope I don't wind anyone up!

This forum (hope I've inserted correct link) states the first letter is to be sent to YB c/o Clydesdale at 20 Waterloo Street, Glasgow

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=3459344&postcount=1
however, the Consumer Action Group website has a different street in Glasgow - 30 Vincent Place, Glasgow
Would someone please let me know if the Waterloo Street address has worked for them please?

    Many thanks

    Without waffling on...

I have sent a schedule(8 pages) requesting £3800, they replied by stating that because i had acured charges from being overdrawn then they will not be refunding any charges.

Despite this I still persued with tking them to court via HMCS & received notification from Northampton County Court that they have 28days from 11th May 2007 to respond.

What happens if they do not respond within 28days, do i automatically win the case as the 28days will be up on 8th June 2007..?

I wrote off my first letter to the yorkshire bank and received a reply just before the forty days were up. The letter acknowledged my request and said due to the high demand for this service they were unable to supply this information within the allotted time and if I wanted to report them to the commissioner to go ahead and do so. This to me showed a lack of good customer service but then why should that surprise me with the way the bank had dealt with us over the last couple of years. It is now 3 weeks since we got the letter and still no statements. Any advice on what to do next?

i have also received the same reply from them several weeks ago. it seems like a stalling tactic. they cashed my £10 cheque within days of receiving. iam also considering my next step.

Gilly - I think I would probably copy it to the solicitors as well.

  • Just had to post re my frustration at yorkshire bank. Judgement was issued against them by default for £4019. I have spoke to my branch manager requesting payment today. she told me it was with the legal services department who do not speak to customers and are deciding whether to pay me or not. When I pointed out it was not a matter of if to pay me but how she said it was not up to her. I explained my next course of action was to send in the bailiffs to my branch (busy Leeds city!!) she said thats fine send in the bailiffs. I want to scream!!!!!!!
