ok so the day after i posted on here ^^^ i received my statements (last thursday) i have added up the charges with interest using the calculator and it amounts to just over £4500.

this afternoon i sent them a hardcopy of the charges i am claiming back and the 2nd letter. i have given them 14 days to respond to this which takes it to 26th June 2007.

i have sent this to the branch where my account is held, was this a mistake ??

if it was and i don't hear anything back should i continue with the 3rd letter giving them one more chance to repay me before going for the court option ??

    just pre-empting the situation

You can send to the branch it was held, they will always forward it to the correct department if needed, if you have sent the letter before court action then after 14 days file the claim, stick to your deadlines, if not that should be the last template letter you send them before filing your court claim, good luck

As anyone had any luck claming bank charges off yourkshire bank, I am trying to claim £2000 off them, they have offered me £200. It looks like I will be taking them to court, but I would like to sort this outside of court if I could

You bumped it after only two minutes! Give us half a chance! :D

Anyway, please read the Reclaim Bank Charges Help thread for information. There are links on there to specialist threads for all the individual banks.

A word of warning, though. Yorkshire Bank do have a reputation for playing not just rough, but nasty. For example, they evidently routinely advise claimants that the courts will be unsympathetic to them, because they haven't managed their accounts properly.

Therfore, please also read the Reclaimed Bank Charges Success Stories and Reclaimed Bank Charges Success Stories II threads for inspiration.

i started court procedures via MCOL on 11th May & the YB didnt respond within 28days so at 12.01am on Tuesday 12th June I requested for judgement via default and full payment withion 7days...

I rang the branch today informing them to pay the full amount(£4064.05) into my account within 7 days(19th June) or i would issue bailiffs. They assistant told me he had rang the legal department & they would be incontact....

Just logged in to MCOL to find the courts had rejected my claim for deafault..!

What did i do wrong & where do i go know..?

  • thanks for that but when i called Halifax they gave me leeds address with P.O. Box number....little confused as thought court papers could not go to P.O. Box. I explained this to the not so polite lady on the phone at CS and "why not" was the response. i could not answer that but i will put in address you gave me.
  • hi all, after my long winded post the other day I have printed off and sent the complaint form to the Fin/Ombudsman. Fingers crossed eh? I'll let you all know what happens.....
