    Anyway enough wedding blathers.

I'm bored with the sound of myself already!

    Today's epic money saving adventures

I went to the wrong work (long story) and netted the following locally grown produce

4 figs - yes in a green house but local figs ;)
    2 cucumbers
    6 courgettes
    5 tomatoes

    and 89 elderflower heads.

Like I said wrong work - but right good fodder all for free.

Out to meet cheery folks for lunch at a church run caf! for the local fete and had soup and sandwiches and biscuit and cuppa

    The co-op netted

    4 reduced lemons
    Half priced flat breads
And a chocolate cake of massive proportions for £1,50

Whilst I don't enjoy cake - I know others do.

I've bottled (and only split a wee bit) of the first home batch of cordial (elderflower, what else at the moment)

And, made a mini food profit of butter and cheese as my friends are going away soon and emptied the dairy drawer into the contents of my car.

I did watch superscrimpers last night with our cheery visitors and we were both 'outraged' at folks having nearly £1000 of food in the cupboards but 'nothing to eat'.

Silly folks - still they came good in the end.

And, rather excitingly our works food swap got a mention in the local paper. :)

So all in all todays been quite fine. Aside going to the wrong work.

    :)

Hey up chaps - I'm having a wee break at work

    How are you all?

    I hope you're good.

Meal plan sort of going to plan - which is unusual and nice too.

I'm heading away again at the weekend for work - free trip down with OH and a return trip by train on the way back.......now won't that be an adventure.

    What are you all upto!

Thank you for birthday wishes! :D A thoroughly cheery weekend of celebrations was had! :T

I like the trip up by train I must admit - we voluntarily did it that way going up with we went up earlier in the year - sleeper from London to Aberdeen and then the ordinary train up to Thurso...arrived at Thurso in driving snow so hopefully you won't have that to put up with Pippi!

Hey up Pippi and the Stripey Gang :hello:

Pippi and EssexHebridean specifically, but anyone else feel free to have a look, I saw mention of a book on Foraging today - apologies if you know about it already - it has been published since March - but it was mentioned on MissMarmiteloversblog (it's the last book reviewed in today's post) and I thought you may be interested, a) because it's about foraging and cooking and b) because the author, Fiona Bird, is from the Outer Hebrides.

Hope you are all well. 'Free' food and good company sounds wonderful Pippi - enjoy!
