So today so far has gone well

A cheerful bit of work then a lovely walk with a very cheery pal.

Then to the work tunnels and lots of free veggies home :)

Tea was foraged from the freezer (naked HM chicken nuggets) - Wiks dad's recipe which is fab take chicken breast, take two slices bacon, blitz in processor and then make into nuggets and pan fry (no oil needed)

:) yum had those with spinach, courgettes and gnocchi

I've no milk here (but I don't take it in much anyway) so I'm going to try and just eat out the fridges/freezers for a week if I can til Mr F returns.

I think there's oatcakes and bread and various grub lurking

I wonder if I can do it?

I've only a few bits of fruit.

Hmm, maybe I'll give myself a fiver for fruit? NOT that I NEED fruit.

    *ponders*

The money I save can go towards wedding grub or the cc :)

I've a few goals for this month.

Walk as much as possible perhaps 5 miles a day if I can - free exercise.

I walked 98 miles last month - which is good but still only an average of 3 miles a day. With two mutts I've no excuses really. I'm aiming for 150 this month. lets see how close I get.

Two days - 10 miles. Happy so far.

Try and keep the grocery spends under £200 this month - with the kids and Mr F away for a goodly chunk of the month this SHOULD be possible.

Try and not stalk/shout/lose the plot with my kids. They're teenagers and I'm of celtic persuasion. I shall try and be a good mum.

Try and keep wedding in budget with free/foraged/borrowed/swapped stuff. And not give into those things we don't actually need or want.

I've only £1033/3000 left to spend and I've not bought a drop of fizz or a cracker yet. And yes, I have a rather nifty spread sheet that tells me this. Who gets married without a spread sheet?

So we've venue decorations/fizz/grub to find for roughly 100 folks-ish. That's perfectly doable isn't it. Of course it is, we can always call it a 'novelle cuisine' buffet' and make everything very small :)

But a lot of those lovely folks are being very kind and helping out :) and we do have free cheese.

All the other key things are either deposited and allocated or paid for. :)

And as for the fizz - I see Martins email has wine on offer at a certain establishment where my BF also works and gets another 10% for. So if we're canny (and order before the 6th August) we can save 25% per case and an extra 10% TOO

Someone ask me if I've ordered fizz before then please. But before I do I need to check out the other supermarkets and see if the Mr T deal is the best around.

Mr F fancies pink fizz - both white and pink are on offer - shall I indulge his pinkness?

Lady coming to check out my frock and perhaps help bead the top where the previous evil buttons were and are no more. I'm swapping her veggies for this :)

    Time for sleep.

    Some good things.

    NSD
    Walked 5 miles today - :)
    Nattered to kids on Skype
Ate foraged food and picked lots free veg at work
Practised sushi skills for welliefest with cupboard stuff
Borrowed some white serving plates over phone.

    A good day.

Thanks for reading and popping by - like a wise lady says often its a privilege to be around for the journey.

Have a great weekend, I'm working which keeps the beans coming in.

Morning Pippi and Stripey Gang :hello:

Wow Pippi - epic lists, as ever :D

YES, I think you can eat out of the cupboards and freezer (with a supplement of fresh veggies) for a week without descending into malnutrition and scurvy. And the prize is worth it :D

YES, if Mr F wants pink fizz, and it is available in the quantities that you need and is included in the special offer, then why not? I'm no officianado of champagne, but is there significant difference in taste? I didn't think there was - it's all about the bubbles with fizz :D Unless you vehemently don't want it for some reason, it's nice to have ideas that you have both contributed. (only my take on the matter - feel free to ignore)

I hope the young people are having a wonderful time en vacances and it's not long now until they will be back with you again. And celtic persuasion is always to be :T

Hope your weekend at work goes well.

  • Greying thank you - I'm home alone so the words flow freely :)

Thanks for reminding me I won't get scurvy - yhrtr str 4 kiwi's and 7 mini oranges left (I just scoffed the last banana) :)

The prize will def be worth it :)

I don't mind pink fizz (we're not having posh fizz) - I was just quite smiley that himself - all six foot one of him, thought pink would be quite fun, they'll match his favourite guitar.

Have a great weekend Greying and you other lovely chaps - I have remembered lunch (impressive huh?)

    Off for scampage beforehand.

    0/5 miles today so far.

Ok so works just winding down and I've a cuppa in hand.

    Time for a weekend list.

    Banks and CC's to do
    Invoice for work to write
    Expenses form to fill out
HC to do and hang up inside/in garage
I must Skype the girl child again
Post a letter for her NI (she's lost the number)
I guess attempting to declutter the book case might be fun? I guess I can actually take the time to look at what books I want to keep (obviously all of them) and pack up some I don't need the now for moving next year.
I need 4 miles of walking (I've done one already) so the dogs and I need a scamp.
I got milk for work and there's some left, if I'm canny I can freeze most of it for next week at work for others rather than buy more.
    Aim for another NSD
Make DD's bed and get that out the way
Swap £20 for a bag of change at work for her buses and refill the bus jar
Chop back the onions and let the stalks be chopped into usable chunks then frozen
Harvest some herbs and dry them mainly oregano I think
chop up some free wood for the fire stash
Get ready for Car boot sale tomorrow
Chop up a mountain of courgettes for pasta sauces
Freeze a pile of tomatoes for the same
    Do work watering (paid)
Watch a movie later and have a nice quiet bath.

Being home alone for 7 weeks sounds fun - but after a while its rather dull.

Even if it means you can suit yourself!

  • Paid £8 to one CC
And paid £165 to the other.

Banks are squeaky but OK and I do need to claim back that last work trip on expenses and also write a work bill for July.

I've changed my last £20 for a bag of coins for dd's buses so that's done for her return home and its out of my purse where the money fairies live.

Off to chop some oregano and onion stalks to take home.

    :)

I think go pink! It says fun rather than formal. Perhaps you should ask for a tasting of both white and pink, after a few it won't matter in the slightest :D
