Yeah, that's what I thought. Although he texted me at 4am!

He cancelled earlier in the week due to a "last minute" training course...but I know that in my work you tend to know about those in advance. I gave him benefit of the doubt though and he seemed keen to meet up today. I just had a nagging doubt though and sent him a message last night politely asking that if he had to cancel please to give me plenty of notice.

Im not heartbroken, just disappointed as it has put me off this internet dating thing before I've even really started with it. I guess I'm just a bit naive about it all.

So what should I say if he texts me later?? Just ignore him? He does seem nice but I don't want to be messed around or treated like a doormat.

Who texts someone at 4am!!! That's just inconsiderate! Personally if he contacts you again I'd just respond that it doesn't seem likely to happen and you hope he has luck with finding someone else on the site.

Sorry it hasn't worked out for today but don't give up looking even if it's not via internet dating.

Also make sure you still go out and do something fun today.

he works abroad a lot, and is going away very soon, so I dont even know if it would go anywhere anyway.

As soon as I read this I thought 'married'.

He may be telling the truth but it's an excellent opening gambit that ensures he can take days/weeks away from you, and be incommunicado when it suits, and you would have to 'understand' because he had set out the parameters from the get go.

If you do go ahead with it, even out of curiosity because you could now use him as a trial run, so to speak, :rotfl:see if you can get a land line number for contact. Men who are hiding another life only disclose mobile numbers and emails.

Don't worry, I have a long list of things to do today- some useful, some nice!

I'm not upset at all, just disappointed. I'm a very open, trusting person and I dont want to change too much- its not my nature...I'm stuck with being who I am. . But I need to wise up a bit. Just need you guys to keep me on the straight and narrow.

    Love you all xxxx

The joke is that he was the one that was hassling me to meet up quickly, to see if we liked each other. I thought, OK that's a fairly straightforward approach, I can sort-of see his point, so thats why we were trying to meet.

    I am so naive!!

Throw him back, he's a player. Why not develop a social life that doesn't demand having a man in it to make it complete?

Errata, I do have a social life, i.e. with my close friends and family. And my social life is getting better as I am stariting more stuff- I have made new (female) friends at the gym for example.

I just Thought id just try Internet Dating....Never said I NEED a man! Dont need one to complete my life but would like someone to talk to maybe on an evening other than DD!

Just thought I'd ask more experienced folk here as I don't want to be deceived ...
