Thank-you grumbler,I am only responding to the comments on here,I assumed I could change the settings on the phone itself to search particular channels........but perhaps that is not possible?

How many times do you need to be told? The channel is nothing to do with the phone. It's set on the router/access point.
Why do people have to get so aggressive?

You seem to cherry pick which posts you respond to and which you ignore!

You need to prove that it is actually the phone at fault and stop throwing your toys out of the pram.

You state that "my work wi-fi uses WPA/PSK" but on what channel?

What channel does your home router use? Don't say you don't know because you can find out if you put your mind to it.

Does this need to be proved? I think this is obvious.

Will it help if he finds out that it's, say, 13?

What channel does your home router use?
Are you implying that the router is using some channel not allowed in UK yet all other phones can see it and connect?

The OP has stated that it connects to his home router but not to the works router.

Yes because fault finding is a logical process rather than simply saying "It don't work"

Are you implying that the router is using some channel not allowed in UK yet all other phones can see it and connect?

The handset may be restricted to work only on channels 1-11, there may be a location/country setting in the handset to extend this. There may be a newer version of firmware available to correct this problem but the OP has given no useful info as yet.

The router at my workplace is behind a locked door,I cannot get into it,I found out it was WPA/psk by connecting my tablet to the router, and finding out,

I can't change the settings in the phone!!!!!!!thats what I am trying to find out!!!!

My phone 'sees' other network connections that others DO NOT!!!
The phone is looking in the wrong place,I want to sort it,but I do not know how, which is why I am seeking help, from blackberry,Vodafone, anyone,I repeat,ALL devices that enter the building can 'see' and connect to the network,my Z10 will not,it is the phone,NOT the router!!!!!!!At my workplace there were other external connections that I could use nearby, although I had no permission to use them, these also DO NOT show up!!!Perhaps they are also on the wrong channel for my phone????

I am no expert, but I don't see any logic in your process.

The phone connects to the router at home.
The phone can't see the router at work that other phones can see.
Logical conclusion: something is wrong with the phone, not the router.

The actual channel that the office router uses makes no difference unless it's some disallowed channel or you know the channels that the phone scans.

If the handset is restricted, than the main priority is to check this IF it is possible and to change the settings IF it is possible, not to find out what the actual channel is and to prove that it's the handset at fault like you suggested. And if the restriction is really the case and cannot be changed in settings (most likely), it's an obvious fault that Voda and/or RIM must take care of.

It wouldn't help if the door wasn't locked as it's not a physical switch that sets the channel. Only your IT staff that know the password can see/change this remotely.

The only useful info that you have posted, is that you have a tablet that successfully connects to your works WiFi.

Use the tablet or an App running on the tablet to obtain complete info about the works WiFi connection.

Repeat this procedure at home and post both results here.

On the Z10 you can access diagnostic information by tapping Advanced on the Wi-Fi settings screen. To copy the log information, in the Diagnostic Information drop-down list, tap Logs. Tap Copy Logs.

    Post the diagnostic info here.

The problem is with the phone.......I have tried what you suggest,my tablet will only give me the IP addreess, which I have entered on the phone,it wants the 'subnet' I do not have this info........I repeat 'THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE PHONE.'.....either Vodafone or Blackberry need to help me fix it,or let me exchange the phone for another one that works, preferably NOT a blackberry!!!
