It's settings on either your phone or the router at work. If you can't accept that, then there's not much anyone else can do to help.

I am selling the phone,it is useless. Will never buy a Blackberry again, and when my contract is finished I will leave Vodafone.

The fact remains that everyone in my workplace can see and connect to the network,my phone will not see or connect,so its the router and not my phone.Odd.

    Hi davmail,

It's disappointing to read about your dissatisfaction with the level of service you've received from us recently.

As others have asked could you clarify whether any of your work colleagues are using Z10 and if so have you compared how your respective phones are set up?

Also, do you know the make and model of the router at your work address?

Should you wish to speak with me further about this you're welcome to email me with your details via the link in our profile here?

All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it will take you to the Contact us form on our website.

To ensure that it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line and once our automated reply arrives update the thread with your email reference number and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?

    Kind regards,

    Lee

I have a blackberry Z10, it finds my router at home, and all wifi netowrks at work (all 3 of them). Does anybody else in your workplace have a Z10 ? Have you updated the Firmware to the latest version?

No,luckily for them,no-one has a z10,and I have been warning them all not to get one!!!I have upgraded the software on the phone,no luck, the fact remains:EVERYONE who walks into the building, with NO MATTER what phone, laptop, netbook, tablet,ALL can see and connect to the network!!!My Z10 will not,it cannot be the router at my workplace,or no-one would connect, why is their equipment different to the z10???? The building is in fact a training centre for I.T.!!!All have tried to connect my phone, but can't,have tried to enter it manually, but says connection timed out.Vodafone fob me off,and its a new phone, blackberry want $49:00 to speak to tech support,I am not asking to end my contract,I just want a phone that WORKS!!!!!

It can be the router at work, the Blackberry might be set to US regulatory domain and the router could be using channel 12 or 13.

Yeah I know, just thought it needed reiterating since it's the most likely cause IMO.

I guess the OP needs clear instructions how to check this, not just 'mentioned'.
Also, it is unclear what to do if this is the case. Nobody will change the router(s) settings because of one odd phone. Is this a sufficient ground for claiming a replacement from Voda under 'not fit for purpose' (or not UK specifications)?

I did not 'ignore' it,we have tried everything,I do not have access to the router,I do not know what channel its on,or what time it has!!!!All I know is,my z10 will not connect,EVERYONE who enters the building with a wi fi device can see and connect to the router,my z10 cannot,it is CLEARLY a problem with the phone, why do not Vodafone and Blackberry accept this?????????it is a new upgrade phone,do I not have a warranty/guarantee that it works??????Do I not have ANY rights in this matter???????

You cannot say the phone has a problem until you find out the wifi channel. That is fact.

It wouldn't be the first device to not work on some channels (Apple have had issues with it in the past).

It really is likely that the channel is the cause of your "problem" (I'm putting it in "s because if I am right, it isn't a problem but by design), and I doubt you would be able to return the phone because it isn't compatible with your offices current setup.

Sorry,I totally disagree,if at least one person had the same problem, then that is different, but,my z10 is the ONLY device that will not 'see' or 'connect',so is the phone, not the router.
