I still do not understand, over 50 people in this building, all using different mobile phones, laptops, netbooks, and tablets,ALL 'see' the network, and connect to it,but on my z10,it does not even 'see' the network, yet it's the router at fault????Odd.....surely it's the phone, logic tells you something is wrong with my phone.

Perhaps the Vodafone rep on here can help me?All I want to do is change the phone,I do not want to cancel the phone contract, just get a phone that works,I really don't have time to visit Vodafone shops, this phone should work,it does not,I have only had it a short time, whatever happened to customer care????

That will never happen! The network will not authorise a replacement and give a new handset simply because someone elses's router doesn't want to connect.

When you say everyone else's connects - do they use the same model as you? If so check out the firmware versions to see what the difference is. If not, it is not a relevant comparison.

There may well be a firmware incompatibility between the way the Z10 handles WiFi connections that causes it to fail at your work - but the fact YOU get it to work at home is testament to there being nothing wrong.

There may be some additional protection the Z10 uses that is knocking out this particular router, but again this is a computer, and if it is just this feature, it is not enough to support a claim of being not fit or purpose.

If an insurmountable issue, sell it on as 'as new' and research a model that will work.

With respect you are not listening to others advice, and insulting people trying to help will not encourage people to post solutions ..

Your phone wifi is working at home, so the wifi appears to be working fine. Have you tried it in a pub, or somewhere like McDonalds where they offer free wifi? Is it working elsewhere?

If it works in other places then the issue is your work.

There are a myriad of reasons the phone cannot connect from an incompatibility in the phone firmware and the router, to your works routers being configured to not allow connections from blackberrys (so your work routers always connect to the radio network), the router could be running out of IP address, there may be issues over the wifi channel is use, is your desk is too far from the router or the radio signal blocked by concrete pillars, so you get no signal for some reason, it could be the blackberry will not allow connections to open networks as it sees them as insecure, or maybe you may need to register the phone to pre-authorise connection at work to allow the phone to connect so the IT group know who's connecting..

Have you asked any of the IT staff at work?

If, say in a block of flats with a shared TV aerial all neighbours with Sonys, JVCc and Sharps have no problems, but my Bush shows nothing even if connected to the neighbour's TV point, is this not a relevant comparison too? Does my TV has to be Sony/JVC/Sharp to make the comparison relevant?

Yes - 'appears', but this is not conclusive. For the sake of argument, if 2g/3g phone works fine in in 3g areas but doesn't work where only 2g is available - does this mean that the problem is with 3g only, not with the phone?

I am selling the phone,it is useless. Will never buy a Blackberry again, and when my contract is finished I will leave Vodafone.

The fact remains that everyone in my workplace can see and connect to the network,my phone will not see or connect,so its the router and not my phone.Odd.
