Agreed!
These forums are turning more and more into Mumsnet everyday (shudder), where all men are evil, no matter what they do.
I actually think its indiscriminate high handed ness we offer here. Men, women, parents, non parents....anyone who makes a mistake ever is pretty much damned equally.

Whenever there's a thread about problems between heterosexual couples, I have a little bet with myself as to how soon the first comment will appear about sexism on the forum, how we're all biased towards women and how all the responses would be so different if the genders were reversed.
I always win.0 -

I think the most damning thing one can do is start a thread.
But obviously people rarely post threads saying...my husband is great and my life fulfilled, what should I do about it? So the threads start on a negative.
Most threads are uncomfortable for OPs because their position is challenged, including suggesting their partner is either not as great as they think or perhaps has a valid perspective.0 -

The worst thing is how everybody assumes new threads are about the other partner cheating/ being controlling/ etc. Obviously there are many cases of this but there was another thread on here today where the posters were trying to assure the OP that her OH wasn't cheating even though the OP said that it wasn't her reason for starting the thread. There are times when I can see how the men on here can see it as being sexist.0 -

I'd be deeply upset if my man went to a strip club. How can i compete looks and body wise with a girl in her early 20s? Ive given birth 6 times and i'm 51 for goodness sake!
Why would i want to have sex with a man who has been turned on by someone else?
Why would you have to compete? I'm sure your husband is still with you because of who you are.
Just because there is someone nicer looking in the world doesnt mean he wants to be with them, does it? (even if they would have him!)0 -

Indeed. It certainly takes a degree of bravery (or sometimes naivety) to do so.Most threads are uncomfortable for OPs because their position is challenged, including suggesting their partner is either not as great as they think or perhaps has a valid perspective.
Agreed. Although I reckon most threads are a mixture of both positions. That's one of the good things about this place - there's enough diversity of opinion that there's room for sensible (as opposed to nit-picking and anally-retentive) debate.
Personally, I'm a little suspicious of those in either camp that are the first to play the sexism card. Beyond our societal duty to intervene when someone is being hurt - mentally or physically - I think there's limited scope for telling people how to conduct their relationships. Well, you can tell them, but they won't take a scrap of notice."There may be a legal obligation to obey, but there will be no moral obligation to obey. When it comes to history, it will be the people who broke the law for freedom that will be remembered and honoured." --Rt. Hon. Tony Benn0 -
I have not seen anyone say that all men are evil etc.
Some of us have even been trying to say that not all men are the same.0
