But there are also those connected with the industry who really do not make enough to buy homes outright, who do it as a second job, or just dabble for a pittance. I have no idea what the proportion of this is though. I think the idea that it is so lucrative is a temptation for many who never achieve the money.

Oh, of course, but then that is also true of many industries. The key to that job, as to my job, as to many, many other jobs is effort and desire to succeed. Put in the effort and you'll make more. I know that there's girls who think that a couple of ten to fifteen minute dances per night will make a fortune, but in the same vein at my previous employer there was a guy who thought he could do the bare minimum and get the same bonus as the rest of us - he couldn't and he didn't.

If you put in the effort it can be extremely lucrative, and of course, some talent doesn't hurt - and I'm not using "talent" in the vulgar sense relating to looks and physique, I mean things like social skills, dancing ability, variations of dances etc.

Most of the girls I work with don't make anywhere near what that specific girl made but they all do well or they wouldn't be able to afford the services my company offers. We don't deal in cheap alarm systems and cameras - it's high-end, expensive equipment, account managers and all of that.

But yes, there will be those who make very little, just because they don't put the effort in or have the extra skills to elevate them above the rest (and most of those skills can be learned). A really talented girl who is good at the business usually gets head-hunted by other clubs and publications too, much like a footballer might get scouted by a Premier League club.

This is all so personal. I am totally comfortable with nudity (and sexuality) and can see the two as pretty much separate. If I see something on a . Beach I don't want to I don't look....

    I agree.

I have no problem with nudity, I walk around the house naked a good proportion of the time!!

I do find woman taking their clothes off and gyrating about provocatively to strangers quite degrading and demeaning to women as a whole, and it harps back to a time when women were seen as sexual objects by men.

One lady I worked with worked as a stripper, glamour model and webcam worker and used the money she raised over the few years to pay for her degree, buy her house outright, buy her car outright and setup a business using her newly acquired degree.

I owned my house and car outright and had a strong career by 29, that paid for the lifestyle I enjoy, without the need to do any of that kind of work for a living. There are other more positive ways of doing it.

I can understand why some women would do this for the money.

But I would be devastated if my daughter went into this line of work.

I personally, am undecided how I feel about stripping etc. I do know that indecision is something that has arrived with age. Ask me ten years ago my answer would have been different. :).

And I'm certainly not denying that. I'm 29 myself and own my own home, two cars and have a pretty decent life and I haven't had to do any stripping and whatnot... plus, no one would pay to see that anyway. Even my partner laughed at the suggestion... :(

I do have to see a shrink to deal with all the horrible [expletive deleted] that I see on a weekly basis, but that's another issue.

But, my point is, that's quite a nice lifestyle she got for herself from what she chose to do. She's not troubled, distressed or anything of the sort - she's all the things you commended in women earlier, confident, intelligent, carries herself well etc. Therefore, I ask, what is it about what she does (or rather, did) that is so negative for her? I don't see anything.

In fact, she's probably my favourite client. Normally, when doing a strip club job, I keep some brochures, leaflets and other documents in the car to pass out to any of the girls interested in security services. Most of them don't bother reading them so I have to explain it to them - and for that matter, even in corporate environments you gather people haven't bothered reading stuff.

This girl though, when we met to discuss her needs, she had it all planned out! Saved me hours of time. She knew what she wanted, how to obtain it and got it. Same way she went about setting up her business. Like I say, I don't see the harm. Girl will probably be a millionaire one day! :D

I think she is very much in the minority. Many others dont end up with a dream lifestyle and walk away from that industry unharmed.

I am working toward being a millionaire one day, aren't we all ;). If I ever get there I want to look back and be proud of the choices I made to achieve that.

Each to their own and I appreciate we all view this differently.

She's in a minority for how far she got in that industry, certainly, but then anyone who earns as much as she did is in a minority for the entirety of our society (especially at the moment!).

However, with the evidence I have, which is the number of girls who have been able to afford the services of a company like the one I work for, I don't think she's in a minority for making a decent, living wage out of what she did.

As for pride, I think she could be quite proud of the fact that her ambition, intelligence and get-go got her where she wanted to be. I don't see any reason for her to look back and regret anything, and somehow, I don't think she will. I think it's much more likely I'll look back on my job and regret everything about that. :o

Nobody forces these women to work in strip clubs. It is their own choice. If they decide it is not for them then they can walk away from it. I dont agree that they are vulnerable. If men choose to go and relax and enjoy this 'entertainment' again that is their choice. Many of these places are full of blokes on stag nights.

I've never seen the attraction myself.

It doesn't seem to be a purely male thing though. Google gives 5,740,000 hits for "male stripper" and I can't believe that they are all catering for homosexual men.
