I can't wait until after my 20wk scan, I will feel a lot more relaxed then. I have been having more brown blood, although I am not overly concerned as baby is as active as ever, it is a bit of a nuisance because it plays on my mind and I can't really relax.
I have spoken to the midwives but they don't seem to take a lot of interest in my area, they are nice enough but seem to constantly brush aside any worries!!
On the plus side I now have this week off, so will get cracking on my uni course I am trying to get myself at least 1-2mths ahead so I can have some time off when the baby comes.

Stop having big meals - seriously - eat something every hour and drink plenty of water. try to leave at least 10 mins between eating and drinking. Do not carry on if you feel really tired - go have a nap - it's your body telling you you need to rest and if you don't the nausea will get worse!
On sunday I ended up having a 3 hour nap in the afternoon... something that is NOT normal for meBut I know if I don't I feel a lot worse very quickly. I find citrus fruits are helping too - I'm going through satsumas and clementines like there is no tomorrow

yeah I know that feeling! This is my first too
out of interst what did they take you off? And what have they put you on?
I'm on cyclizine which if fairly safe and works to a degree - it suppresses the nausea and means I can eat - before I couldn't even keep water down!
I was on Domperidone and on Prochlorperazine now. How many weeks are you now?
I've jsut been reading, and Prochlorperazine is also an anti-pyschotic. I've just come off one type of anti-pyschotic, will check with the Pysch today that I'm okay with this one.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -

Hiya Mel - my 20 week scan is next Monday and I can't wait to find out which flavour we are having :T :T :T Trying not to contemplate any thoughts of discovering problems, which I know is ultimately what the scan is all about (you mean it is not just about me wanting a photo and to know which team bubba will be playing for)
I have just started to be able to feel bubba having a good old wriggle frequently! I don't cry when I feel it anymore (with happiness - not pain!) but Hubby says I make this little noise that means that he knows what is happening!
Brown blood is probably nothing (you know that better than I do!) but don't be put off by the blase attitudes of the MW if you feel that things aren't right.
My MW is not great in person - like she has rehearsed everything she has got to say and is just put on repeat! But on the one occasion that I had to phone her she was great
And last but not least in my epic update - I managed to sit on a chair at work yesterday for most of the day without wanting to cry with pain! With a bit of luck I can take my gym ball home soon :cool:please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

MFD - Thank you, hey I wish I could sit down all day at work....My back and legs are in pain by the end of the day...
Ooooh your scan is exactly one week before mine, it is so exciting isn't it. I would be more excited about mine but I went through a bad time with ds2 so am a bit worried about this one too. As soon as I know baby is fine with no problems then I will be jumping around with joy and will be able to enjoy the rest of the pregnancy...

happy birthday poppy
Gentle hugs to skintchick - so sorry honey. Take things easy xxx
Good luck Astonsmummy
Well MW apt on Saturday went really well. The MW was lovely (one I hadn't met before) and she stayed for over an hour chatting with me and DH and going over HB information as well as giving me a check over. We got to hear a heartbeat
I am low risk and keeping well so a HB is definately a real option (and what we are going for) at the moment. We discussed everything we could think of and I was really happy with the MW attitude and she seemed happy with mine. I ahve a list of things I need - but it's not much which is great. She said the most important thing we can provide is caffiene and cake/biscuits for the MW's
Oh and I'm now 24 +2 so we are viable nowMy bump has suddenly grown, but my mum and DH keep reassuring me its all bump and not loading on anywhere else. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
MFD - didn't realise that you were finding out the flavour of bump - I'm really excited nowr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Morning all,
Bit of a personal question - those who are under 12 weeks (or those that have been under 12 weeks) - are you having sex with your partner?
I am feeling a bit strange about it. I am 8 weeks and feel I don't want to have sex until I have had my scan.I know you can't harm it by having sex, it is just my own personal feelings on the matter.
So, has your sex life tailed off a bit or is it just odd ball me? ;-/Proud mother of twin boys - double the trouble and twice the pleasure! :T0 -
Icklebeans
We are not, not my choice ;-), it has been nearly 2 months and the saying gagging for it comes to mind. Obvioulsy there are 'work arounds' that have still taken place but due to issues with bubs we are waiting until the 12 week scan, bring on the 20th Oct!!!0 -
r.mac - glad the MW visit went well - congratulations on becoming viable :T I can't wait til I can say that!
icklebeans - I am not first trimester but I will answer anywayFor us sex certainly slowed down...mostly due to me being tired and sick but it was still reasonably regular and then it came back with a vengeance at about week 13! I suppose a lot of it may depend on your sex life pre-pregnancy? A slow down is to be expected I guess.
Do you have any specific worries which will be allayed by the scan?
SB - hope that it is not raining there like it is here - happy birthday poppy!
Mel - sitting down at a desk all day ain't all it is made out to be especially when you literally have a pain in the bum:rotfl:
