I had cravings for fruit early on, I'm sure there must have been a national cherry shortage because I went through so many. I also craved ice, I would chew it all day... Ice lollies even better :) But most of the cravings have gone now and I'm just left with the stuff I can't eat anymore.

I can't stand the sight or smell of curry or anything spicy (which is a shame because I love mexican food). I haven't had a cup of tea in 6 months (I'm a 15 a day girl normally). To be honest though, I am finding most food leaves a nasty aftertaste which I'm struggling with. I clean my teeth umpteen times a day but even the minty taste turns bad after a little while. Hope this passes too.

  • Oh candygirl - I am so sorry to hear that your DD has split with her bf. Make sure she takes it easy and tries not to get too stressed.

No experience of asthma but she should talk to the midwife about it next time she sees her (or call the doc if it is getting worse and she hasn't got an appointment for a while).

hwoolgar - my doctor calculated the same due date as I did... 16th of May - 7 days after our first wedding anniversary ;)

What was the date of the beginning of your last bleed? and do you have normal length cycles (ie 26 to 28 ish days or long cycles like 31+ days) ?

SO if your date if right and not the docs between you me and Krystal and ikklebean we should have those few days pretty much sewn up ;)

oh candygirl i am really sorry to that your daughter has split up with her boyfriend. give her our love

as for the asthma, i haven't suffered since i was very young, which I have now seemed to grow out of, still one of the reasons why i have to see a consultant next month though.

i can only echo what MFD said, and get her to speak to her midwife or doc if she needs.

hey candygirl, sorry to hear that your DD split with her BF. I'm sure she'll be just fine though as she has a brilliant mum to help her through.

    thinking of you both x

  • Congrats hwoolga!!!

My last first day of period was 12th Aug so the websites estimate my due date as 18th May.

Hwoolga, Krystaltips, Mrs Tine and myself - we can all get through this together! :-)

Glad you guys are getting the same feelings as me.

I can report no cravings for me as yet. As long as I have a supply of food, I am fine. Right nipple felt a bit sore this morning. It is amazing how much more aware of your body you become when you are TTC and even more so when you get the lovely positive result!

  • So glad to hear about everyone else's cravings for fruit - I thought I was going mad! I've also been off tea and coffee, and I only fancy Cadbury's fudge / curlywurly / galaxy ripple for chocolate. I'm currently on my second cup of tea of the day (although the first was at 4.30am), so I'm hoping it stays put.

Candygirl - so sorry to hear about your daughter and her bf. As r.mac said, I'm sure with you helping her she'll be fine and get through.

fruit was about the only thing I could stomach between weeks 5 - 16! Nectarines, cherries, oranges, appleas, grapes - anything pretty much. My mum also had the orange craving thing - apparently its a sign of a girl? We haven't found out what we are having though (GO team yellow!:T ) so will be another 19 wks or so until I can confirm that :p
