My doctor said that 1 or 2 units a week probably wouldn't do any harm - but obviuosly he can't tell me it's "definitely" fine etc - his advise was "be sensible" - So far I've had 1 glass of champagne when we told the neighbours last friday - and I'll have 1 or 2 glasses on friday at SILs wedding - (probably just one to be fair...)

Doesn't anyone know if they make alcoholfree redwine? I don't miss "alcohol" I miss the taste of my wine... Did make bangers and mash last night with a redwine and onion gavy - but the redwine was STRONGLY reduced down so there was no chance of any alcohol left in that! Was yummy!

I am planning to be as active as poss this time. Little ds was born after me having an epidural and i didn't like it afterwards, cos they took him away for an HOUR before they would let me hold him. Got my revenge though cos you cant feel your bottom half you cant control your flatulence...

Why did they take him away?!

After Poppy was born, cleaned and tagged, I only held her for a minute when another MW came in and said the lady labouring in the next room was desperate to see me baby to spur her on!. How could I say no even though I had only very briefly met her earlier in the waiting room!. So off she went....and the lady gave birth to her baby boy not long after :D.

They never really told me but he was making a kind of barking noise and was a funny colour, I think he needed warming up. he was born so quickly i wouldn't be surprised if he was a bit startled! One push!
He came back with a very old fashioned knitted hat on so i always tell little ds he was born with a hat on :D

DH said he was really disppointed that he couldn't cut the cord but I'm sure he was secretly relieved! :rotfl: .

Thing about taking CDs with you is that you have to take the chance they actually have a CD PLAYER available! :) AFAIK you could not take your own cos it would not have ben safety tested.

With DD I took my own CD player in with batteries... She was born with The Cranberries blaring out in the background...

Informed the Dr today, it's on my notes and I'm booked in with the midwife on 14/10... That'll be happy birthday for me ;)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

Gosh there's a lot to catch up on!

    Congrats wotnext :-)

Toto, those picture are gorgeous, look at those cheeks! :-)

Lucifa, I've given up with any kind of pillow, unfortunately my baby is seriously territorial and if there's anything touching my tummy she kicks it until it moves, I tend to lean my bump on the bed. I tend to be ok if she's asleep but if she wakes up and I'm leaning a bit too much she does try to push the bed away! I know lots of people swear by the wedge cushions though if that helps?

r mac: yay for big movement! It's so cool isn't it! I have an anterior placenta as well and was told by a midwife that it won't necessarily make a difference as the baby can kick outside of the placenta where you can feel it! I don't think it makes much difference when the movements are so huge as well!

Emms/r mac: I found the baby moving freaky as well, the first time she made my tummy move with a big kick I grabbed it to stop it moving! I've managed to calm down and generally get used to it and mostly I find it amusing now! Especially when she's dancing to Metallica!

Hooray for everything being well SB, enjoy your scan as well :-)

MFD: I'm having trouble sleeping on my left as well, but I tried changing sides of the bed with Himself, I'm now nearer to the toilet and I can cuddle the duvet thus exposing my limbs to the lovely cool air! Admittedly I'm directly in the trumping firing line but I am actually sleeping better (and more on my left) amazingly!

Keely: eeeek, you're going to have your baby soon! Very good luck from me, not that you'll need it obviously, I'll still be here when you get back and tell us all about it :-)

AF: I remember earlier in my pregnancy (about where you are now) weeping for hours over something, a t shirt I think, whatever it was it was very important at the time. My friend told me it's completely normal, she once ran out of marmite while pregnant, her DH rushed out and got some more. He was baffled when that didn't help, it was becuase it was that particular jar of marmite! When she told me I cried becuase I could understand how bad she felt! You have to love hormones don't you! Five minutes of Finding Nemo and I'm done for!

Confessions: I'm afraid of all the naughty things I have only done one, I eat the occasional handful of peanuts mostly becuase I'm not convinced by the guidlines! All the other stuff I either don't eat/drink/do anyway or figure I'm so anxious anyway that it's not worth me worrying over for the sake of a few months! But that's just me and my over active paranoia!

Sarahsaver: you're due two days before me! :-)

Phew, that was a lot of stuff!
Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!

    confessions:

I have had a glass of champagne and a glass of wine in 20wks. it's SIL's wedding in a few weeks and I'm planning on having a glass or maybe two of champagne, but have to confess that I feel like everyone would be judging me if I did :(
I also eat nuts still - I LOVE them and there are no allergies on either side, so going easy on them and the peanut butter, but figure a little of what I fancy won't hurt too much
I keep crying at the drop of a hat - a highlight was when hubby brought home galaxy chocolate not cadbury's. it was a long evening!!!!!

On another note we booked our hypnobirthing course today - start in October and the woman seems really nice. It may be hard to get into the swing of it to begin with as it still seems a littel bit 'hippie' to me - but I'm willing to try anything. Plus it's a way to meet another couple of pregnant woman in my area. Hubbie has been very good about it all - so hopefully he'll benefit just as much as I will.

Oh great - I'll want to hear all about it. My course runs in December and I have no idea what to expect really despite visiting every website I can find:p

As for confessions - I've had a few cashews and a wee half glass of champagne. Mostly I have to sneak things when Hubbles isn't around though which makes me feel more guilty than eating the stuff s worth so I tend to be pretty well behaved:o
